The much talked about all-new Land Rover Discovery Sport has been officially introduced to the Malaysian market. Imported and distributed by Jaguar Land Rover (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (JLRM), the new SUV has been hailed as the world’s most versatile premium compact SUV, and is the first member of the new Discovery family in Malaysia.
JLRM has made available two variants of the Discovery Sport – the 2.0 litre Si4 Petrol that outputs 237hp and 340Nm of torque, and the 2.2 litre SD4 Diesel that offers 187hp and 420Nm of torque. Both engines are mated to a state of the art nine-speed automatic transmission for comfort, performance and durability in harsh conditions.
Being a Land Rover, the new Discovery is lavishly equipped with innovative features such as a 5+2 seating, powered tailgate and there is a host of optional accessories like Park Assist, Automatic High Beam Assit, Lane Departure Warning, panoramic roof and such.
Expectedly, it also comes with unrivalled all-terrain performance courtesy of 600mm wading depth, optimised approach, departure and break-over angles and the Land Rover signature Terrain Response System that controls the throttle, gearbox, centre-coupling and braking and stability systems to match the demands of any terrain.
The Land Rover Discovery Sport comes with an armada of technologies aimed at comfort and versatility. It comes with a five-year or 300,000km warranty, five-year or 80,000km free scheduled maintenance, and 3-year roadside assistance.
The Si4 Petrol is priced from RM399,000, while the price for the SD4 Diesel will be announced at a later date.
