Dato’ Razlan Razali resigns from Motorsports Association of Malaysia (MAM)

Dato’ Ahmad Razlan Ahmad Razali has resigned from his position at Motorsports Association of Malaysia (MAM) on 21 March 2019. The Sepang International Circuit (SIC) CEO has announced his resignation for the position to focus on his newly-appointed role as the Team Principal for the PETRONAS Yamaha SRT squad in MotoGP.

This is seen as a good move by Dato’ Razlan considering that being the Team Principal for the PETRONAS Yamaha MotoGP team is in itself a monumental task. What’s more is the fact that he too will be handling the PETRONAS Yamaha Sprinta Racing squad in both Moto2 and Moto3 as well as the latest MotoE electric motorcycle race series.

The letter of resignation has been submitted to the current MAM President, Tan Sri Mokhzani Tun Mahathir who replaced Tan Sri Azman Yahya as part of MAM’s restructuring exercise. Dato’ Razlan also announced that Muizz Azli will be his replacement at MAM.

Having involved in many legal cases involving motorsports events, Dato’ Razlan stated that Muizz would be the perfect candidate for the now vacant position to not only structuring MAM but also take it to the next level.
