Attention all e-hailing drivers in the country! The Malaysian Land Transport Department or more popularly known as JPJ has officially announced that all of you will need to register for a PSV Vocational License from 1 April 2019 onwards.”

According to the Minister of Transport, Mr. Anthony Loke, “Registration of drivers will be held from January to July 2019. After 12 July 2019, we will start enforcing the new regulations as all e-hailing drivers must have PSV registration and license, insurance and vehicles which are more than three years old will be required to undergo inspection.”

This can be done at any E-Hailing Operator (e-HO) driver training centre which has been approved by JPJ with a fee of RM200 and six hours’ worth of training module. This regulation has been condemned by many, stating that it will greatly affect drivers and vehicles used for public transportation here in Malaysia.
