Remember the group of Proton X70 owners who set out on an adventure of a lifetime a few weeks back? Well, the Proton X70 Amazing Trip participants have completed their 13,000km drive through four countries and 13 cities where they finally reached the home of Proton’s joint venture partner, Geely!
With the goal of showcasing the toughness and all-round capabilities of the Proton X70, the Proton X70 Amazing Trip proved that Proton’s first premium SUV is actually very reliable and durable whilst contributing to the non-governmental relationship between the two major countries.

The convoy was successfully led by the Borneo Automotive Leisure Touring Team together with the Kunming Scenery-Customer International Travel Co. China where they were also fully supported by PROTON. Several checkpoints were set up at multiple PROTON dealers and service centres to showcase the company’s dedication in providing the ultimate care for their customers.
It took them 33 days to complete the entire journey where they travelled through Malaysia, Thailand, Laos, China and back again.
There were many amazing stops during the entire journey from meeting wild elephants at the Wild Elephant Valley in Pu’er, Stone Forest of Shilin (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), sampling local delicacies in Qinlong, all the way to visit the home of Geely in Hangzhou.
The overall driving package provided by the very capable Proton X70 brought the participants to their main headquarters where they were given a tour of the Geely Experience Centre.
