This is how Hino plans to reduce road accidents in Malaysia

Hino Motors Sales (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (HMSM) together with Yamato Transport (M) Sdn Bhd (YTM) are very much aware of the current trend of road accidents and deaths currently taking place in Malaysia.

As part of their contribution to the government’s plan to reduce these numbers by 50% in the coming years, they’ve launched their very own aptitude test and safety driver training for their customers who are currently using the entire range of Hino commercial vehicles.

The full-scale training facility located in Sendayan, Negeri Sembilan is the first of its kind to be built outside of Japan (which includes a driving circuit) where it has been integrated into the Hino Total Support Customer Center (HTSCC).

The centre which started back in 2015 focuses on educating commercial vehicle drivers through in-house safety training by certified coachers with the goal to improve the overall safety performance when driving in all sorts of different conditions.

The two giant companies are taking advantage of their joint experience in both Japan and Malaysia to launch an initiative for safe vehicle operation in the logistics and transport businesses.

The training program provided by HTSCC includes safety-related content using a combination of driving aptitude diagnosis, training lectures, and vehicle training.

The training is based on each driver’s driving characteristics by focusing on improving knowledge, awareness, and driving skills. Instructors then can use the results to further facilitate improvement in their knowledge and consciousness of safe driving.
