Ford Donates RM33,000 to Montfort Boys Town

Ford Motor Company together with Sime Darby Auto ConneXion (SDAC) awarded the Montfort Boys Town a grant worth US$8,000 or RM33,000 as part of the Ford Education Grant program here in Malaysia. This generous deed was done to help support the local automotive industry with training to develop qualified technicians.

With the grant, the Montfort Boys Town were able to source two lift posts for their Automotive Production Department and at the same time keep its training facility up to date. This will greatly help their students not only in gaining precious knowledge but also to support them in becoming high-quality technicians in the automotive industry.

According to Truong Kim Phong, Managing Director of Ford Asia Pacific Emerging Markets, “Serving the communities where we do business has always been an important commitment for Ford. Together with our local partner, Sime Darby Auto ConneXion, we are proud to continue supporting Montfort Boys Town and further build learning opportunities with practical training and skills development for their students.”

To those of you who are wondering what the Montfort Boys Town is, it’s a learning institution dedicated in providing practical vocational training and life skills to underprivileged youths. With the acquired skills, these youths will be able to develop their lives for the better with all the skills acquired to flourish in the working environment.

Back in 2017, Ford also donated two vehicles and equipment that helped with additional training program for their ever-growing curriculum. Ford has been very hands on when it comes to their Corporate Social Responsibility efforts with programs like Ford’s Driving Skills for Life and Ford’s Global Caring Month just to name a few.
