Mazda MX-5 RF updated for 2019 – From RM259,154

Bermaz Motor Sdn Bhd, the exclusive distributor of Mazda vehicles here in Malaysia, has announced that the latest updated 2019 Mazda MX-5 RF is now available, and it comes with a host of enhancements that elevates its overall comfort, convenience, as well as power delivery.

To start things off, the Mazda Connect Infotainment display now comes with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto® as standard. This is definitely a welcomed update as the 2019 Mazda MX-5 RF can now cater to any user using any current smartphone to provide a more seamless connectivity.

Under the hood, the Skyactiv-G 2.0-liter engine in the updated MX-5 RF has been further refined to provide better response, performance, feel, and efficiency. What future owners will get is a very sports car that produces 181hp at 7,000rpm (17% increase) and over 200Nm of torque from 4,000rpm.

The result is an engine that revs up quicker, responds better, and more exciting to drive. This comes as no surprise considering that Mazda has injected its very unique ‘Jinba Ittai’ engineer philosophy which means “horse and rider as one”.

Other updates include:

  • 17-inch black metallic wheels
  • New telescopic steering wheel

Currently, there are two CBU models on offer here in Malaysia with the same Skyactiv-G 2.0L engine option and two options for transmission; a Skyactiv-Drive six-speed automatic transmission with Manual Shift mode, or a six-speed manual transmission.

If you’re interested in getting one, the pricing (OTR without insurance) for the 2019 Mazda MX-5 RF is set at RM259,164 while the automatic transmission comes in at RM260,354. Seven colours are available; Soul Red Crystal, Machine Grey, Jet Black, Snowflake White Pearl, Eternal Blue, Ceramic Metallic and Artic White.

All new Mazda vehicles come with 5-Years Manufacturer Warranty + 5-Years Free Maintenance (except Mazda BT-50) according to manufacturer’s standards inclusive of labour, parts and lubricants (or 100,000km, whichever comes first).
