Perodua Bezza selling like boba tea in Sri Lanka

The Perodua brand is off to quite an amazing start in Sri Lanka. It only took two years for the Perodua Bezza to become the best-selling new sub-1.0 litre sedan in their current local market and the demand is on rise.

In fact, it only took seven months after its introduction in the country before it took the lead in its segment in terms of new vehicle sales across all body styles. Launched back in June 2017, the Bezza was priced at Rs 3.69 million (around RM86,200) and they’ve already sold around 1,500 units.

Handled by local distributor, Unimo Enterprises, they’ve successfully sold and registered over 15,600 Perodua units in the market since 1997. Their second most popular model currently on offer? The Axia which has sold around 3,000 units since its launch back in 2015.

According to Perodua President and CEO, Dato’ Zainal Abidin Ahmad, “We congratulate Unimo Enterprises Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director Mr Mahesh Gunathilake and his team for their hard work in promoting the brand and especially for the significant milestones they have achieved so far.”

“We work very closely with Unimo to provide product knowledge and technical training for their sales and service staff, so our valued Sri Lankan customers can rest assured knowing that their Bezzas and Axias are always in the best of hands,” added Dato’ Zainal.

As for the CEO and Executive Director of Unimo Enterprises, Mr Mahesh Gunathilake, he stated “Buyers love the Perodua Bezza and Axia for their compactness, practicality, quality, reliability, durability and fuel efficiency. Both are also surprisingly roomy for their size.”

“In particular, the Perodua Bezza has quite successfully introduced the compact sedan segment to Sri Lanka, a market long dominated by hatchbacks. Our customers really appreciate the body style, increased comfort and cavernous 508-litre boot. The Perodua Bezza can take five people in comfort and their luggage too, making it very ideal for family journeys,” he added.
