According to the latest report posted by the Sun Daily, a gang of thieves broke into a Ford showroom in Sungai Jelok, Kajang and drove off with three brand new units of one of the most popular pickup truck models here in Malaysia, the Ford Ranger Raptor. This happened earlier this morning at around 4am.
Five suspects are now being hunted by the authorities after their ‘Grand Theft Auto’ scheme. They managed to pull it off after breaking into the premises armed with machetes and tying up the 47-year-old Pakistani security guard.
Each of the Ford Ranger Raptor model is priced at around RM200,000 (RM199,888 OTR without road tax) and these scumbag thieves drove off with close to RM600,000 worth of premium Ford products. According to Kajang district police chief ACP Ahmad Dzaffir Mohd Yussof, the case will be investigated under Section 395/397 of the Penal Code for armed robbery.
The Ford Ranger Raptor is highly regarded by many thanks to its superb performance, beautiful design, and all-round driving capabilities. Selling these bad boys won’t be easy but judging by how ‘professional’ these thieves work, we’re guessing that they might’ve already ended up somewhere outside of the country (or they might strip it off for parts, which is even more heart-breaking).
