Audi has virtual PC robots working for them

What does it feel like to work with a virtual robot? Well, the employees over at Audi know the experience as they’re currently working hand in hand with virtual PC robots at their workstations. Their job is pretty simple but crucial to get it right every time; entering countless data and creating standardised reports faster and more efficiently without any errors.

The reason why Audi has ‘hired’ these virtual robots to work on their employees’ PCs is because they want to relieve some of the working tasks so that they can focus more on complex and value-adding tasks that no robot can assist – yet. Audi IT founded the centre of excellence that provided this central platform for the Robotic Process Automation (RPA).

This digital assistant is called “Audi myMate” and they’ve been working effortlessly in entering and booking capital goods in their system since August 2019. So far, employees have welcomed these virtual robots with open arms as they can focus more on complicated task. By the looks of things, Audi said that they might add more digital assistants in the near future.

According to Dr. Bernd Martens, Member of the Board of Management for Procurement and IT, “With the introduction of RPA, we are pushing forward the digitalization of our business. We are using bots to make our processes more efficient and faster, and at the same time are giving our employees more time for more interesting work – a win-win situation for everyone.”
