2020 Audi e-tron Sportback unveiled – all electric, all-wheel-drive, all awesome (w/VIDEO)

Audi’s future of electric is now further expanded with the launch of their second e-tron model line-up in the form of the 2020 Audi e-tron Sportback. Combining a dynamic SUV coupe with Audi’s signature electrification, the new Audi e-tron Sportback promises great clean range together with state-of-the-art features.

Offered with up to 300kW and 350hp of power output, the Audi e-tron Sportback has a range of up to 446km with just a single battery charge. To identify its futuristic identity, Audi has installed digital matrix LED headlights for the very first time in a mass-production vehicle which offers exceptional yet controllable precision thanks to its ability to break down into tiny pixels.

Apart from those cool-looking headlights, the exterior dimensions portray a very elegant looking SUV coupe together with EV characteristics (4,901mm long, 1,935mm wide, 1,616mm height). A flat roof over a muscular body plus steep raked D-pillars further accentuate the Sportback features that many will find ecstatic to look at.

Riding on 20-inch wheels paired with Audi’s sport air suspension package (S line), the new e-tron offering comes in an array of colour options for future customers (13 different paint finishes in total). There will be two variants on offer, the Sportback 50 Quattro and Sportback 55 Quattro (230kW, 540Nm torque & 347km max range). Both models promise efficiency, performance, and driving comfort.

Top speed has been limited to 200km/h with selectable driving modes that help vary power delivery and performance together with its two-stage planetary gearboxes. A simple yet modern switch is all that’s needed to select gears that help the new e-tron Sportback to essentially conquer any terrain.

When charged at fast-charging stations of up to 150kW using direct current (DC), the battery can be charged up to 80% in just 30 minutes. The same time but will lower voltage (120kW) is needed for the Sportback 50 quattro variant. This allows for ease of travel, especially in long-distance journeys.

As for home charging, Audi will be offering a wide range of solutions with an output of up to 11kW. This is considered perfect for long-term use that involves daily driving when overnight charging is applied.

The interior specs include:

  • Bang & Olufsen Premium 3D Sound System
  • Audi phone box with wireless charging.
  • Two-display MMI touch response operating system (upper 12.1-inch touch screen & lower 8.6-inch display
  • MMI Navigation plus and the DAB+ digital radio
