RM13,000 Reduction In Price of Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace Life

It’s a usual practice for companies to offer a reduction in prices at the end of the year as they want to clear stocks. And it is also not uncommon for prices in the new year to be revised upwards.

However, for those who order a new Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace Life today and take delivery in January 2023, the price will be lower. Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia has announced that the new price, with immediate effect, is from RM159,990 (without insurance), which is RM13,000 less than its launch price which was from RM172,990.

The Tiguan Allspace Life, assembled locally at the Volkswagen facility in the DRB-HICOM Automotive manufacturing complex in Pekan, Pahang, was introduced in August this year as an entry-level version. It is the third member of the Tiguan range, with the other two versions being the Tiguan Allspace Elegance (from RM188,990) and Tiguan Allspace R-Line (from RM235,990).

Life versions are Volkswagen’s entry-level models while Allspace signifies the 3-row body which can accommodate up to 7 persons. In spite of the 3-row seating, the cargo area is still pretty generous. Up to 1,775 litres of volume is available with the two backrests of the third row folded flat.

Although having the lowest price, this version still has a comprehensive equipment and feature list. The headlights are Full LED, along with the daytime running lights and tail lights (which have dynamic turn indicators). The tailgate is powered but does not have the sensors for handsfree operation like the other two versions.

Inside, the general layout is the same and there’s 3-zone electronic climate control, as well as a multi-function steering wheel and paddle shifters. The instrument panel uses a digital display while the centre display for infotainment is 9.2 inches in size. Connectivity options include wireless App-Connect (Apple CarPlay, Android Auto) and the available USB ports are Type C.

The Tiguan Allspace Life is powered by a proven 1.4-litre TSI turbocharged engine (150 ps/250 Nm) with a 6-speed DSG. The small engine displacement helps to keep the fuel consumption down to a claimed 13 kms/litre. With the 60-litre fuel tank, that should be good for almost 800 kms on an outstation journey.

The safety systems are also extensive – besides 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Control, ABS and Brake Assist, there’s also a Multi-collision brake system, Intelligent Crash Response System, and Electronic Parking Brake. Lane Assist and Driver Alert systems are available as well to help the driver while on the move. Cruise control is standard and a speed limiter (which activated) will help reduce the chances of a speeding ticket.

Though it is an entry-level model, owners enjoy the same benefits as those who have the other Tiguan Allspace versions. They will not have to pay for scheduled maintenance for the first 3 years, and there is no mileage limit on the 5-year warranty. There’s also complimentary roadside during the first 5 years of ownership.

Three versions of the Tiguan Allspace are available in Malaysia, priced from RM159,990.
