Proton Apologies For Presentation Error During Introduction of EV Brand

Proton attracted some brick bats during the introduction of the name of the company’s upcoming electric car, the eMAS.

That came after a slide mistakenly showed Sarawak as Sabah, and Sabah as Sarawak, The obvious error was projected onto a screen in front of a crowd of hundreds and some attendees were quick to capture photos and critise that error on social media.

Proton responded to that error this morning by issuing the following statement:

We deeply regret this mistake and understand the sensitivities it has stirred among our fellow Malaysians.

PROTON holds the unity and diversity of Malaysia in the highest regard, and we are committed to respecting and celebrating all states equally.

We sincerely apologise for any misunderstanding caused and appreciate any feedback from the public.

We will ensure greater care in our future endeavours. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

We commend Proton on their quick response.
