Volvo Car Malaysia Opens Bookings for Locally Assembled EX30 Electric SUV

Volvo Car Malaysia has officially opened bookings for the locally assembled (CKD) Volvo EX30, following the overwhelming success of its fully imported (CBU) units launched in September 2024. The introduction of the EX30 underscores Volvo’s commitment to offering sustainable, safe, and innovative mobility solutions tailored to the Malaysian market.

The locally assembled Volvo EX30 Model Year 2025 (MY25) will be available in two variants: the Ultra and Ultra Twin Performance. Pricing starts at RM208,888 for the Ultra variant, while the Ultra Twin Performance variant is priced at RM228,888. Customers can choose from three stunning colours: Cloud Blue, Vapour Grey, and Crystal White. The first deliveries are expected in the second week of January 2025, making the EX30 an exciting addition to the growing electric vehicle market in Malaysia.

Powering the EX30 are advanced electric drivetrains tailored to diverse driving preferences. The Ultra variant features a single motor producing 272PS and 343Nm of torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5.3 seconds. Meanwhile, the Ultra Twin Performance variant boasts a dual-motor setup delivering an impressive 428 PS and 543 Nm of torque, achieving 0-100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds. Both variants are equipped with a 69 kWh NMC battery, offering a range of up to 476 km (WLTP) for the single motor and 450 km for the twin motor. Fast-charging capabilities enable the battery to go from 10% to 80% in just 28 minutes when using a 175 kW DC charger.

Staying true to Volvo’s reputation for innovation and safety, the EX30 integrates state-of-the-art technology and cutting-edge features. The vehicle comes with Google Built-In for intuitive control, an upgraded Pilot Assist system with semi-autonomous functionalities, and 360° environmental awareness supported by multiple cameras and sensors. The EX30 also includes automatic parking with Park Pilot Assist and a premium Harman Kardon soundbar system, ensuring a luxurious and convenient driving experience.

Volvo Car Malaysia is also offering extensive after-sales support to provide peace of mind for EX30 owners. The Volvo Car Service Plan (VSP) covers essential services, including air filter replacement, brake fluid checks, wiper blade replacement, and software updates for up to five years or 100,000 km. Additionally, wear-and-tear items such as brake pads and discs are included in the plan. Customers will also benefit from a five-year roadside assistance program, which includes towing services to the nearest authorised Volvo service centre.

The EX30 comes with comprehensive warranties, including a five-year/unlimited-mileage vehicle warranty and an eight-year/160,000 km high-voltage battery warranty. The battery warranty ensures free repairs or replacements if capacity falls below 70% during the warranty period, further reinforcing Volvo’s commitment to customer satisfaction.

With its blend of advanced technology, exceptional safety features, and competitive pricing, the locally assembled Volvo EX30 is poised to redefine electric vehicle ownership in Malaysia, offering an unparalleled driving experience to customers nationwide.
