Ford Performance Unveils Two New Supercharged Crate Engines for 2025

Ford Performance has announced the introduction of two new high-performance crate engines, the 7.3-litre Megazilla 2.0 V8 and the 5.0-litre Supercharged Coyote V8, designed to provide significant power upgrades for both competition and street applications.

Megazilla 2.0: A 1,000+ Horsepower Powerhouse

The Megazilla 2.0 is an evolution of Ford’s original Megazilla V8, now enhanced with a Gen 6 3.0-litre Whipple Supercharger. This combination results in an estimated 1,000+hp, making it one of the most powerful crate engines Ford has ever produced.

Built for competition use only, the engine is intended for applications such as drag racing and desert off-road racing. Key features include:

  • Forged pistons, connecting rods, and a steel crankshaft for enhanced durability.
  • Ported and polished cylinder heads with upgraded valve springs for improved airflow and efficiency.
  • A high-performance supercharger to maximise power output.

Supercharged 5.0-Liter Coyote: Street-Legal Performance

For enthusiasts seeking street-legal power, Ford Performance has introduced a supercharged version of the 5.0-litre Coyote V8 from the Mustang Dark Horse. This engine is expected to produce over 800hp and approximately 833Nm of torque.

Designed for both track performance and daily driving, it features:

  • A 3.0-litre supercharger for increased boost pressure.
  • Optimized engine tuning with a reprogrammed powertrain control module.
  • A two-year/38,624km limited warranty provides added peace of mind.

Designed for Easy Installation

Both engines are engineered for straightforward integration into various vehicle builds. They feature:

  • A plug-and-play control pack harness, simplifying installation for builders.
  • Proven components used in Ford race cars, ensuring durability and reliability.
  • Versatile applications, making them ideal for custom builds and engine swaps.

Availability

The Supercharged Coyote and Megazilla 2.0 crate engines will be available for order through Ford dealers and Ford Performance Parts in Q4 2025.

With these latest additions, Ford Performance continues its commitment to delivering high-powered solutions for enthusiasts, reinforcing its philosophy of “no boring products” and pushing the boundaries of modern performance engineering.
