OMODA JAECOO Unveils Revitalised Brand Identity and Milestones at Malaysia Autoshow 2025

Celebrating its first anniversary at the Malaysia Autoshow 2025 (MAS2025), the automotive marque formerly known as JAECOO announced a major brand transformation. It will now operate under the name OMODA JAECOO, signalling a strategic repositioning towards a more dynamic and premium identity in the SUV segment.

The rebranding reflects the company’s growing confidence in the Malaysian market and its intention to capitalise on rising demand for intelligent and lifestyle-oriented mobility solutions. OMODA JAECOO is now positioning itself as a challenger premium off-road SUV brand, targeting a broader spectrum of consumers—particularly the younger, tech-savvy generation and adventure-driven urban explorers.

Vice President of OMODA JAECOO, Emily Lek, stated that the brand refresh underscores their ambition to redefine the driving experience. She emphasised the brand’s commitment to offering high-performance vehicles and a lifestyle-centric ownership journey that connects with modern Malaysian consumers.

Over the past year, OMODA JAECOO has recorded significant milestones. The brand has surpassed 12,000 vehicle registrations in Malaysia, encompassing both internal combustion engine (ICE) and hybrid SUVs. It has also established a robust network of 45 authorised dealerships across the nation to cater to its expanding customer base.

Globally, the brand has made substantial progress, now operating in 42 countries and regions. With more than 1,300 showrooms worldwide and a user base exceeding 500,000, OMODA JAECOO has secured a firm footing in the competitive international SUV landscape.

As part of its refreshed brand strategy, the company offered a preview of the upcoming OMODA C7 Neo Crossover at MAS2025. Set to enter the C-segment crossover market, the C7 aims to disrupt the segment with its bold design and modern features.

In line with its commitment to electrification and intelligent mobility, OMODA JAECOO showcased its growing portfolio of New Energy Vehicles (NEVs). A special highlight at the autoshow was a knowledge-sharing session led by Dr David Xianqiang Lu, Chief Engineer of Product Development Management and Director of Pre-Research and Vehicle Architecture Institute at Chery Automobile Co. Ltd. Dr Lu, a pivotal figure behind the Super Hybrid System (SHS), elaborated on the brand’s forward-looking technology roadmap.

The SHS, which made its local debut with the launch of the J7 Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV), offers an impressive blend of performance and fuel efficiency. The system enables vehicles to achieve a combined driving range of over 1,300 kilometres on a full tank and battery charge. It has been successfully trialled both in Malaysia and internationally.

During MAS2025, visitors have the opportunity to explore and test drive the current line-up of OMODA JAECOO models, including the JAECOO J7, J7 PHEV, and C9. Making its public debut for test drives is the JAECOO J8, following its preview in March.

Attractive promotional packages are being offered during the autoshow. Customers booking the J7 AWD and 2WD models can choose between a five-year free service package or a 0.8% loan interest rate. Meanwhile, bookings for the J7 PHEV come with a comprehensive 10-year warranty, covering up to 1,000,000 kilometres for both the engine and high-voltage battery.

Every booking made at MAS2025 includes a limited-edition OMODA JAECOO Touch ‘n Go card, with additional merchandise such as exclusive charms available for purchase. The brand’s pavilion at the event also features interactive attractions, including a custom digital tote bag printing station and sweet treat redemptions for visitors who complete a brief survey.

With a reinvigorated brand identity, an expanding product portfolio, and a clear vision for sustainable mobility, OMODA JAECOO is gearing up for the next phase of growth in Malaysia and beyond.
