Aston Martin has unveiled the Valkyrie LM, an ultra-exclusive hypercar that pays a bold tribute to the brand’s storied history at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The new model, limited to just 10 units, captures the essence of Aston Martin’s competitive spirit as it returns to the top tier of endurance racing for the first time in over six decades.
The Valkyrie LM is derived from the Valkyrie Hypercar race car currently contesting both the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) and the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. It is powered by a modified version of the Cosworth-built 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine, tuned to the same regulation-limited output of 697bhp as its racing counterpart.
This launch coincides with Aston Martin’s renewed campaign to achieve overall victory at Le Mans—a feat last accomplished in 1959 by Roy Salvadori and Carroll Shelby in the DBR1. The new Valkyrie LM reflects the culmination of decades of motorsport heritage, first established in 1928 when Aston Martin made its Le Mans debut.
The Valkyrie LM has been engineered to deliver performance nearly indistinguishable from the competition version, with minimal changes implemented for accessibility and usability during private track days. Key differences include the removal of FIA-mandated electronics and ballast, as well as the addition of a bespoke cockpit interface. The car forgoes closed-loop torque control and torque sensors—features required for racing homologation—in favour of a more driver-friendly open-loop system. Its engine is also recalibrated to run on commercially available fuel.
Retaining its rear-wheel-drive configuration, the Valkyrie LM uses a seven-speed sequential gearbox with paddle shift, and features racing-spec double wishbone suspension with pushrod actuated torsion bars and adjustable dampers. Bespoke Pirelli tyres, supplied by Formula One’s official tyre partner, complete the vehicle’s high-performance package.
Inside, the cockpit is focused on safety and visibility, outfitted with a custom carbon-fibre racing seat, shoulder supports, and padded headrest. It includes a six-point FIA safety harness, fire suppression system, and a multifunctional steering wheel with integrated display and shift lights.
To complement the car itself, Aston Martin has created a bespoke driver development programme designed to elevate owners to a professional level of performance. This fully managed initiative eliminates the logistical complexities of running the car independently, providing expert engineering support, simulator coaching, and one-on-one guidance from dedicated driver coaches.
Owners will participate in classroom briefings and track walks, while also benefiting from video and telemetry analysis conducted by the Valkyrie LM’s engineering team. The programme will include simulator training ahead of each event and a complete driver equipment package comprising a helmet, HANS device, racing suit, boots, gloves, earpieces, and fireproof undergarments.
Storage, maintenance, and transportation of each car will be handled exclusively by Aston Martin. Clients will take part in an official handover ceremony before driving their Valkyrie LM for the first time in the second quarter of 2026. Two additional track events will follow later that year, held at Formula One-grade circuits as part of the UNLEASHED experience.
Since its inception in 2016, the Valkyrie project has defined the zenith of hypercar innovation, from the original coupé to the open-top Spider. Now, the Valkyrie LM offers an opportunity for a select group of owners to live the journey of an endurance racing driver, in a machine capable of exceeding 321km/h on the storied straights of Le Mans.
With deliveries timed to align with the start of the Valkyrie LM Performance Club in 2026, this latest creation from Aston Martin represents the most exclusive and authentic motorsport experience the brand has ever offered.
