Zeekr Strengthens Presence in Malaysia with Launch of National Sales Company and Major Expansion Plans

Chinese premium electric vehicle brand Zeekr has announced the formation of Zeekr Intelligent Technology (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, a dedicated National Sales Company (NSC) established to oversee its operations in the Malaysian market. The move signals a decisive commitment by Zeekr to deepen its roots in Southeast Asia and elevate its standing in Malaysia’s fast-growing EV landscape.

The NSC will take direct control of core business functions including wholesale distribution, dealer network development, brand strategy, marketing initiatives, and aftersales support nationwide. Zeekr’s latest step comes on the back of rapid international growth, having already reached 500,000 mass-produced vehicles globally as of June and successfully entering over 40 countries and regions.

According to Alex Bao, Managing Director of Zeekr Southeast Asia, Malaysia represents a pivotal market for the brand within the region. He stated that significant investments are being channelled into building a sustainable and customer-centric presence. Bao noted that the formation of the NSC would serve as a bridge between Zeekr and Malaysian consumers, enabling the company to respond more effectively to customer feedback and expectations. He also emphasised three key areas of focus: expanding network reach, strengthening aftersales services, and ramping up marketing efforts.

Zeekr currently operates two showrooms in the country — Zeekr Space in Petaling Jaya and Zeekr Space in IOI Mall Puchong. With the newly established NSC and in collaboration with its partners, including Sentinel Automotive Sdn Bhd (official importer and dealer), Preeminent Auto, and Carro, the brand is poised for rapid network expansion. Eight new Zeekr-authorised showrooms have been confirmed for rollout at strategic locations across Malaysia.

By July 2025, new outlets will open in Bandar Sunway and Jalan Yap Kwan Seng in Kuala Lumpur. Additional showrooms are planned for Bangsar, Skudai in Johor Bahru, and Penang by the third quarter of 2025, followed by launches in Seremban, Melaka, and Ipoh by the fourth quarter of the same year.

Beyond retail expansion, Zeekr aims to deliver a premium ownership experience by developing a comprehensive aftersales support ecosystem. Three dedicated Zeekr Service Centres will be established in Bandar Sunway, Penang, and Johor Bahru, all expected to be operational by 2025. These centres will offer full service with genuine Zeekr parts and a commitment to high-quality, customer-focused support.

As part of its long-term growth strategy, Zeekr Intelligent Technology (Malaysia) is actively seeking new dealership partners in several key areas including Cheras, Kuantan, Tebrau in Johor Bahru, Kuching, and Kota Kinabalu. The company’s aggressive local expansion underlines its ambition to become a key player in Malaysia’s EV transition and to offer Malaysian consumers greater access to its cutting-edge electric mobility solutions.
