Following its first public appearance at the Malaysia Autoshow 2025, smart Malaysia has officially opened bookings for the All-New smart #5, the latest addition to its all-electric line-up.
Presented under the theme ‘Contemporary Adventurer’, the smart #5 represents a new direction for the marque – one that blends ruggedness, refinement, and electric innovation.
Customers can now secure their smart #5 with a RM2,000 booking fee, either through:
-
The Hello smart App, available on Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and Huawei App Gallery; or
-
The smart Malaysia website.
The smart #5 will be offered in four colours for the Premium variant and three colours for the BRABUS, each reflecting smart’s modern design language and engineering precision. The vehicle’s bold, boxy silhouette gives it an assertive road presence, while its interior showcases a balance of sophistication and warmth.
Inside, more than 90% of the cabin is wrapped in Nappa leather, paired with oak wood trim and a tie-clip-inspired dashboard. A 1.7m² panoramic glass roof fills the cabin with light, complemented by a powered sunshade and an onboard chiller neatly integrated into the centre armrest. Double-layer soundproof glass keeps the cabin serene, even in busy city traffic.
Practicality remains a strong suit. With 34 storage compartments, a 1530-litre rear boot, and a 72-litre front trunk, the smart #5 is built for both daily use and long-distance adventures. The SUV also features three configurable bed modes, ventilated front seats, and a one-touch comfort mode for rear passengers.
At the centre of the driving experience are dual 13-inch OLED displays, a 25.6-inch augmented reality head-up display, and an AMD V2000 automotive-grade processor that powers the system. The cabin also introduces LEO, a ChatGPT-enhanced voice assistant capable of managing navigation, connectivity, and in-car settings.
Audio quality is elevated through a 20-speaker SENNHEISER system with Dolby Atmos and an auto-lifting centre speaker surrounded by ambient lighting, transforming the interior into a true listening space.
The smart #5 received a 5-Star Euro NCAP safety rating, earning the highest overall score among large SUVs in 2025. The SUV’s body features 42,000Nm torsional rigidity and 82% high-strength steel, supported by seven airbags, Smart Pilot Assist with Highway Pilot Assist, Stop & Go, and a 360° camera system.
For different terrains, the car offers nine driving modes, including five off-road settings, and uses double wishbone and multi-link suspension for improved stability and comfort.
The Premium variant is designed for everyday refinement. It features a rear-wheel-drive setup, a 100kWh battery, and an 800V architecture that allows 22kW AC and 400kW DC fast charging. The SUV achieves a WLTP range of up to 590 km and accelerates from 0–100 km/h in 6.5 seconds, offering both efficiency and smooth performance for long drives.

The BRABUS variant, on the other hand, brings a sportier personality. It adds dual-motor all-wheel drive, Launch Mode, and a BRABUS-tuned driving sound. The model sprints from 0–100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds, combining the practicality of an SUV with sports car performance. The interior features Dinamica microfibre upholstery, while the exterior stands out with red brake callipers and 21-inch BRABUS Monoblock Z wheels.
