WTC Automotif (M) Sdn Bhd (WTCA), the official distributor of GAC vehicles in Malaysia, has officially introduced the GAC M8 PHEV — the brand’s new flagship luxury MPV that blends sophistication, innovation, and hybrid performance. The M8 PHEV is available in two variants, with the Premium priced at RM328,800 and the Luxury at RM388,800, both on-the-road without insurance for Peninsular Malaysia.
To celebrate its arrival, customers who book the M8 PHEV before 31 December 2025 will enjoy two years of complimentary scheduled maintenance and a portable charging cable worth RM3,800. The promotion runs for a limited time and is subject to specific terms and conditions.
Powering the M8 PHEV is a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine paired with a 2-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT) and an electric motor. Together, they produce an impressive 372 PS and 630 Nm of torque. The system is supported by a 25.57 kWh battery pack and a 56-litre fuel tank, allowing the MPV to achieve a combined range of up to 1,038 km. This setup ensures both performance and long-distance efficiency, making it well suited for extended family road trips or business travel.
To enhance comfort and ride refinement, the M8 PHEV is equipped with Adaptive Vehicle Dynamics Control and an Electromagnetic Damping Suspension System, delivering composed handling even on uneven roads. The hybrid system also offers three distinct driving modes — Intelligent Hybrid, All-Electricity First, and Power Preservation — allowing drivers to tailor the power delivery based on driving conditions or personal preference.
In terms of design, the M8 PHEV makes a commanding first impression with its bold “Lion-like” front fascia, sleek “Awakening Eye” LED headlights, and 18-inch alloy wheels featuring self-levelling wheel caps. Inside, the cabin embodies quiet luxury with semi-aniline leather seats and a versatile layout that includes 480 mm of sliding adjustment for the second and third rows.
The interior’s calm ambience is enhanced by extensive insulation, including 108 noise-reduction points and an Engine Noise Control (ENC) system. A Cool-Sense Technology climate system maintains consistent temperatures throughout the cabin without harsh airflow, further elevating passenger comfort.
On the safety front, GAC has gone all out. The M8 PHEV features the world’s first patented rear windscreen airbag, integrated into its comprehensive 360° airbag protection system. It also includes Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Full Automatic Parking Assist (FAPA), ensuring maximum convenience and peace of mind for every drive. Owners will benefit from a 5-year/150,000 km vehicle warranty and an 8-year/150,000 km battery warranty, whichever comes first.
The GAC M8 PHEV is now available for test drives and viewing at GAC showrooms across Malaysia. As part of its nationwide launch, the new MPV will be showcased at Johor Mid Valley SouthKey from 5 to 9 November and at the Malaysia Car of the Year Showcase in 1 Utama from 12 to 16 November.
