Volvo Car Malaysia has reintroduced its pioneering aftersales assurance initiative under a new name — the Volvo Genuine Parts Extended Warranty programme. This industry-first scheme offers a lifetime warranty at no extra cost on Volvo Genuine Parts that are installed at authorised Volvo dealerships across the country, setting a new standard in the premium car segment.
The programme is designed especially for customers whose vehicles have exceeded the standard manufacturer’s warranty, giving them continued confidence and long-term protection. It reflects Volvo’s ongoing dedication to product quality, customer care, and reducing overall ownership costs. True to Volvo’s promise of safety and reliability, these parts are guaranteed to be “For Life.”
Unlike the standard new-car warranty, the Volvo Genuine Parts Extended Warranty covers both the cost of parts and labour for all eligible replacements carried out by authorised dealers, with no additional charges beyond the price of the part and its installation. The coverage applies for the lifetime of the part, ensuring customers enjoy complete peace of mind long after the original warranty period has ended.
All Volvo Genuine Parts qualify under this warranty, except consumables, wear-and-tear components, batteries, accessories, and wholesale or over-the-counter items. The policy even includes remanufactured Volvo Genuine Parts sold and fitted by authorised dealerships. If a defect in a covered part causes a failure in another part eligible under the warranty, both will be replaced free of charge.
To qualify, parts must have been purchased and installed on or after 1 October 2021 at an authorised Volvo workshop, with a dated invoice or receipt under the current registered owner’s name. The warranty applies only to the original owner and cannot be transferred if the vehicle changes ownership. Customers must also ensure that their cars continue to be serviced and maintained by Volvo’s authorised network to maintain eligibility.
Vehicles that have not been brought to an authorised Volvo service centre for more than two years after the standard warranty period will need a health check, paid by the owner, to confirm that the car remains in good condition and has not been modified or tampered with. This measure ensures that the integrity and safety of the vehicle are preserved before requalifying for coverage.
