In a remarkable feat, SDAC-Ford achieved record-high sales, with a staggering 8,858 units of the Ford Ranger and Ford Everest sold in 2023. This milestone reflects the growing trust and preference of Malaysian consumers for Ford vehicles, renowned for their exceptional performance, advanced technology, and superior quality.

Particularly, the Next-Gen Ford Ranger has garnered immense popularity within the Malaysian market since its launch, owing to its outstanding performance and unmatched quality. Notably, the Next-Gen Ranger Raptor 3.0L Petrol engine model, equipped with a potent V6 Twin Turbo engine delivering 397PS and 583Nm of torque, offers exhilarating driving experiences. Meanwhile, the recently launched Next-Gen Ranger Platinum model boasts sophisticated features that promise luxurious comfort and cutting-edge technology.

A pivotal factor contributing to SDAC-Ford’s success is its strategic expansion of the dealership network, aimed at elevating the Ford service experience. Last year, the company commenced the construction of the latest RM12 million Ford Signature dealership in Penang, situated strategically on Jalan Baru in Seberang Prai. Spanning an impressive 46,000 square feet, the state-of-the-art facility showcases a cutting-edge Ford 3S centre adhering to the latest Ford Signature Corporate Identity standards, featuring sixteen service bays and four vehicle display areas. Scheduled for full operation by the end of Quarter 2, 2024, this dealership promises to set new benchmarks in customer service and satisfaction.

In a strategic move to tap into the thriving pickup market of East Malaysia, SDAC-Ford significantly expanded its presence across the region. Recognising Sabah as the third-largest pickup market in the country, the company launched two key dealerships in the state, namely Ford Kota Kinabalu (Inanam), Boston Auto Dealership, and Ford Kota Kinabalu (Penampang), Rightpower Corporation.

Furthering its strategic expansion, SDAC-Ford inaugurated Ford Kota Samarahan, Jimisar Aruna dealership in October 2023, located in the UniVista Commercial Centre, Jalan UniVista Off Jalan Express Way in Kuching, Sarawak. Positioned near a major expressway for enhanced accessibility and within a bustling commercial center, this dealership strengthens the brand’s presence in East Malaysia. Additionally, the Ford Ranger secured various accolades including Carlist.my’s People’s Choice Award for the Best Pickup Truck 2023 and the Allianz DSF.my Vehicle of the Year (VOTY) Award 2023 for ‘Pick-up Truck of the Year,’ among others.

Porsche enthusiasts and speed aficionados rejoice as the legendary automaker expands its electrifying lineup with the exhilarating Taycan Turbo GT and the track-focused Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach package. Representing the pinnacle of all-electric sports sedan performance, these models promise an adrenaline-fuelled driving experience like no other.

Harnessing peak power exceeding 1,100PS, both variants of the Taycan Turbo GT boast unparalleled performance capabilities. Combined with advanced lightweight construction and aerodynamic enhancements, these electric marvels redefine the standards of driving dynamics in the realm of GT sports cars. Enhancing the rear axle’s prowess is a more potent and efficient pulse inverter utilising silicon carbide as the semiconductor material. The maximum torque in both versions is up to 1,340Nm.

The Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach package solidified its status as the fastest electric series-production car by setting an impressive lap time of 1:27.87min at the Weathertech Raceway Laguna Seca, California, on February 23, 2024.

For those seeking an extra surge of power, the “Attack Mode” unleashes up to 160hp of additional power at the push of a button, reminiscent of the push-to-pass function utilised in Porsche’s 99X racing cars competing in the Electric ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.

Underneath the hood, Porsche engineers have revamped the Taycan model line, boosting the overall system power. A new rear-axle motor ensures even more dynamic performance compared to its predecessors. Equipped with a more powerful pulse inverter, both models command an impressive 777hp, surging to a staggering 1,019hp with Launch Control or up to 1,092hp for two seconds according to peak power measurements.

Acceleration is blisteringly quick, with the Taycan Turbo GT sprinting from zero to 100km/h in just 2.3 seconds, while its Weissach package counterpart does it in 2.2 seconds. This puts them ahead of the Taycan Turbo S, offering an unmatched driving experience. Moreover, the acceleration from a standstill to 200km/h is equally impressive, clocking in at 6.6 or 6.4 seconds for the Taycan Turbo GT without/with Weissach package, significantly outpacing the Taycan Turbo S.

Not only do these models deliver exhilarating performance, but they also prioritise efficiency with an electric driving range of up to 555km according to WLTP measurements.

Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, Porsche has meticulously reduced the weight of the Taycan Turbo GT by up to 75kg compared to its predecessors, employing carbon fibre in various components. The Weissach package further enhances performance by shedding an additional 70kg, replacing the rear seats with a lightweight carbon cladding and optimising other elements for track prowess. In addition, the equipment package includes special performance summer tyres. They are mounted on 21-inch lightweight forged wheels.

Inside the cabin, the Taycan Turbo GT exudes racing-inspired luxury, featuring full bucket seats, and exclusive interior trims. The Weissach package elevates the driving experience with additional aerodynamic and lightweight construction measures, reaffirming its position as the ultimate track weapon.

With its groundbreaking performance, cutting-edge technology, and unrivaled craftsmanship, the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT models set a new benchmark for electric sports sedans, embodying the relentless pursuit of excellence synonymous with the Porsche legacy.

In the realm of supercars, the Nissan GT-R has carved out a legendary status, and now, it’s preparing to bid farewell with a final, limited-edition model slated for the 2025 model year.

Since its debut in 2007, the R35 generation GT-R has cemented its reputation as a relentless supercar challenger, boasting remarkable performance figures that have kept enthusiasts enthralled.

2020 Nissan GT-R NISMO

According to insider sources cited by Japanese publication Mag X, Nissan is poised to unveil the curtain call for the GT-R on March 14, with reports suggesting that only 1,500 units will roll off the production line, including approximately 300 Nismo models. However, it remains uncertain whether these exclusive editions will be reserved solely for the Japanese market or offered globally.

While specifics about the final model remain elusive, considering the significant visual refresh the 2024 GT-R received just a year ago – with updated front and rear fascias – major overhauls for the 2025 version seem improbable. Perhaps minor aerodynamic tweaks or adjustments to trim levels may be in the cards, but a complete redesign appears unlikely, especially for a model destined to bow out after a limited production run of 1,500 units.

Should the reports hold and 2025 indeed mark the swan song for the R35 GT-R, enthusiasts can anticipate commemorative touches adorning the sports car, such as special badges or decals.

Under the hood, the regular variant is expected to retain the familiar 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 engine from the 2024 model, delivering 565hp and 632Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the GT-R Nismo variant could receive a power bump to 600hp and 651Nm of torque.

Upon its debut, the GT-R made waves in the supercar world. It stood as one of the fastest production cars globally, surpassing rivals at significantly higher price points. However, over the past 17 years, the supercar landscape has evolved, with lighter and more potent competitors entering the fray, effortlessly outclassing the GT-R.

While the 2025 GT-R may draw the curtains on the R35 era, Nissan is poised to usher in a successor in the near future. At the recent Japan Mobility Show 2023, Nissan teased enthusiasts with a glimpse of the future through the Hyper Force concept – a GT-R-inspired model propelled by electric motors, boasting 1,341 bhp.
