2020 Renault Megane R.S. Trophy R

The Renault Mégane R.S. Trophy-R has been on a record-breaking rampage in the past few months and the latest one was set at the legendary Suzuka Circuit of Japan. With Laurent Hurgon again behind the wheel, they’ve successfully set a new front-wheel-drive record of 2:25.454 which is more than three seconds faster than the previous record!

The latest Renault Mégane R.S. Trophy R has simultaneously set a new record at Nürburgring for the fastest lap time set by a front-wheel-drive production car and dethrone the previous king, the Honda Civic Type R.

On 5th April 2019 the Mégane R.S. Trophy-R set a new all-time record for front-wheel-drive production cars on the Nordschleife of the Nürburgring, now a world-renowned proving ground. It covered the 20.600 km in 07’40’’100, and the official whole lap length of the Nordschleife 20.832 km in just 07’45’’389. (more…)
