Hyundai Debuts Ioniq 5 Disney100 Platinum Edition

Hyundai, the exclusive North American automotive sponsor for the Disney100 Celebration, has unveiled the Ioniq 5 Disney100 Platinum Edition during the magical “Dancing with the Stars” Disney100 Night. The Ioniq 5 Disney100 Platinum Edition, initially showcased as a concept car at the 2023 New York Auto Show, takes centre stage in the opening scene and features during rehearsals driven by the show’s talented performers.

Limited to 1,000 units, the Ioniq 5 Disney100 Platinum Edition is set to hit the market in early 2024, blending automotive innovation with Disney magic.

2023 Hyundai Santa Fe Facelift Set For Malaysia, Confirmed CKD

Sime Darby Hyundai Integrated Sdn Bhd (SDHI) has officially signed a Certificate of Mass Production with Inokom Corporation Sdn Bhd to commence mass production of the highly anticipated facelifted Santa Fe. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in their shared commitment to strengthening the local automotive ecosystem and delivering exceptional value to customers.

It has received a significant exterior makeover, showcasing a sleek and modern design. At the front, the headlights are now seamlessly integrated with the grille, presenting a neater appearance. Notably, the daytime-running lights feature a T-shaped signature, adding to the modern look.

A redesigned front bumper with robust satin silver trim gives the SUV a more off-road-ready aesthetic, enhancing its imposing stance. The fog lamps on the lower bumper have been omitted in this facelift model.

Hyundai Launches Ioniq 6 Lite And Plus Variants In Malaysia

Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors (HSDM) has broadened its offerings in Malaysia with two new variants, the Ioniq 6 Lite and Ioniq 6 Plus, joining the previously launched Max RWD and Max AWD variants introduced in July. This expansion provides more options for Malaysian customers interested in the Ioniq 6 range.

The new Lite and Plus variants of the Ioniq 6 are single-motor rear-wheel drive (RWD) vehicles. Their 53 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery feeds a 111 kW motor that produces the same 350Nm torque figure as the Max RWD, sprinting both Lite and Plus variants to 100km/h from a standstill in just 8.8 seconds.

Range is 429km on the stringent WLTP cycle, and thanks to the 800-volt architecture shared with the Max variants, the Ioniq 6 Lite and Plus can also charge from 10% to 80% in 18 minutes, given the maximum of 350 kW DC. In fact, when plugged in to less powerful chargers, the Lite and Plus have shorter charging times than the Max variants – 10% to 80% takes 58 minutes at 50 kW DC while 0% to 100% takes 5.5 hours at 11 kW AC.

The Lite and Plus variants share much of the Max variants’ equipment, including seven airbags (including a front-centre airbag), Lane Keeping Assist, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L), two seamlessly connected 12.3-inch screens, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, 64-colour ambient lighting, wireless phone charging and a power tailgate.

Hyundai Santa Fe Makes Official Debut – Four Powertrains Offered!

The new, fifth-generation Santa Fe was unveiled by Hyundai last month, but no specifications were provided. With the model’s complete unveiling in Korea today, some of those missing particulars are now known.

With this model, Hyundai used a unique design approach by starting with the expanded tailgate space before creating the overall look. For the benefit of passengers, the new, fifth-generation Santa Fe is bigger than the model it replaces and has grown in every way.

EV Owners File Lawsuit Against Hyundai For Charging Defect

According to reports coming out of the United States, a recently filed nationwide class-action lawsuit centres on how quickly Hyundai Group electric vehicles can truly charge when plugged in at home and a tendency to overheat. Plaintiffs contend that a flaw in the plug port causes it to overheat when the car is charging at level 2, significantly delaying the rate at which energy is recovered.

Owner complaints, recordings illustrating the alleged flaw, and the Hyundai Group’s own efforts to fix the issue are all included in the lawsuit as supporting evidence of a problem for which owners are entitled to be compensated in the Central District of California United States District Court.

Hyundai Performance Models To Get Carbon Fibre Wheels

A lightweight carbon fibre hybrid wheel option will be offered by Hyundai’s high-performance N division for its models.

The Ioniq 5 N‘s new Hyundai N Performance parts were displayed at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed with a 21-inch prototype version of this wheel that Dymag and Hankuk Carbon had collaboratively produced. Since the 1970s, Dymag has produced lightweight performance wheels, and more recently, with assistance from composites partner Hankuk, it has moved into producing carbon fibre wheels.

Auto Companies Team Up To Open A Vast EV Charging Network in America – Why Not in Malaysia?

In order to build a network of 30,000 new EV fast-charging stations, seven major manufacturers have joined forces. The first chargers are expected to be operational in the United States in the second half of 2024 and in Canada at a later stage thanks to a joint venture by BMW, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes-Benz, and Stellantis.

Both the Combined Charging System (CCS) and Tesla’s exclusive North American Charging Standard (NACS) connections are supported by these chargers. Several manufacturers, like Mercedes-Benz and GM, who are involved in this joint venture, have already committed to use these NACS connections in the near future.

Hyundai Ioniq 6 Launched In Malaysia; Starting From RM289,888!

Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors (HSDM) has introduced the Ioniq 6 into the Malaysian market. It is the second model sold under the Ioniq sub-brand, which is geared towards selling electric cars, and the fourth model made using the Hyundai Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP).

The streamlined Ioniq 6 design was influenced by Hyundai’s Prophecy Concept EV, which made its debut in March 2020 and, according to Hyundai, it has the lowest drag coefficient of 0.21. A large wheelbase of 2,950mm results from the stretched-out front and rear points. The Ioniq 6 measures in at 4,855mm in length, 1,880mm in width, 1,495mm in height.

2024 Hyundai Santa Fe Gets A Bold Boxy Design

Hyundai’s midsize SUV, now in its fifth generation, offers unique lighting with a “H” theme. The completely revamped Hyundai Santa Fe also has square wheel arches and 21-inch alloy wheels with 245/45 R21 tyres for a more robust appearance.

While the tailgate is decorated with the Hyundai emblem and large “Santa Fe” writing, the taillights are fairly low and feature the same “H” theme as the front. While Hyundai has not yet released any technical details, it has stated that the wheelbase has been lengthened.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 N Debuts With 600hp And Drift Mode!

The Goodwood Festival of Speed is this year’s venue for the world debut of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N. The high-performance electrified car is the first in N’s electrification strategy, but it won’t be the last. The Ioniq 5 is Hyundai’s “first step” in its electrification strategy, according to the automaker, with further EVs from the sub-brand to come.

Two electric motors are available in the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N. The model’s combined output of 600hp and 740Nm of torque may somewhat alter before production begins. With the N Grin Boost mode activated, the output rises to 641hp and 770Nm of torque for 10 seconds.

The all-wheel-drive engine can accelerate the N from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds; with N Grin Boost, that time drops to 3.4. It has a top speed of 260 km/h.
