Complementing the German marque’s eclectic product offerings, the Autohaus launch reflects the brand’s continued drive for holistic automotive excellence, bringing the Best Products, Best Service and Best Customer Experience to its ever-growing customer fan base.

For the first time, the A-Class also comes standard with the KEYLESS-GO function, enhancing the convenience and comfort in its daily use. The new A-Class also comes with a class-leading safety and assistance systems such as the Active Parking Assist which assist the driver when searching for a parking space and when entering or leaving a parallel or end-on parking spaces. It manoeuvres the vehicle into the selected parking space and back out again.

With the generation change, the new A-Class now comes with 64 colors for the ambient lighting. Besides the increase in color variety, the ambient lighting colors are composed into ten color worlds, allowing an avant-garde lighting display with spectacular color changes. The color worlds can be matched to the different styles of the widescreen display when required, creating a harmonious overall impression.

Besides its good looks, the new A-Class models are powered by new efficient and powerful engines. The A 200 Progressive Line is also equipped with a 1.3-litre inline turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine rated at 120 kW/163 hp with the 7G-DCT dual-clutch automatic transmission. The A 250 AMG Line, on the other hand, is equipped with a 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine rated at 165 kW/224 hp with the 7G-DCT dual-clutch automatic transmission. Both, the A 200 and A 250 is also equipped with the four DYNAMIC SELECT transmission modes “Eco”, “Comfort”, “Sport” and “Individual”.

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has officially launched the Mercedes-AMG E 53 Sedan and the Mercedes-AMG E 53 Coupé to join the E-Class range, the Masterpiece of Intelligence in the premium executive segment alongside the Mercedes-Benz E 300 AMG Line, which was introduced earlier this year, Mercedes-Benz E 200 Avantgarde, E 250 Avantgarde, E 250 Exclusive, and the Mercedes-AMG E 63 S.

“With the new Mercedes-AMG E 53 and E 53 Coupé, Mercedes-Benz is further consolidating the premium executive limousine segment. The pair offer considerably sharpened designs with elegantly sporty looks. Besides its good looks, the Mercedes-AMG E 53 and E 53 Coupé are both powered by the 3.0-litre in-line six-cylinder turbo engine with EQ boost starter-alternator characterised by top performance and intelligent electrification,” said Mark Raine, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia.

More agility, neutral cornering performance and greater traction come courtesy of the AMG RIDE CONTROL+ air suspension developed in Affalterbach. The multi-chamber air suspension with particularly sporty damper set-up and continuously adjustable damping ADS+ (Adaptive Damping System) combine outstanding driving dynamics with high ride comfort. A harder spring rate, for example, when cornering and braking, effectively reduces body roll. The damping characteristics can also be preselected in three modes, “Comfort”, “Sport” and “Sport+”, allowing a significantly more noticeable differentiation between excellent long-distance comfort and sporty driving dynamics.

The now fully variable AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive combines optimal traction for dynamic driving fun with a high level of driving safety in all conditions. The transition from rear-wheel to all-wheel drive and vice versa is seamless, because the intelligent control is integrated into the overall vehicle system architecture. Both, the Mercedes-AMG E 53 and E 53 Coupé are equipped with enhanced MULTIBEAM LED headlamps, with each headlamp equipped with 84 individually activated high-performance LEDs that makes it exceptionally bright and precise. The performance sedan and elegant coupé comes with 20-inch AMG alloy wheels.

The Mercedes-AMG E 53 and E 53 Coupé also feature the exciting AMG Track Pace function. It is the ideal system which transforms COMAND Online into a personal race engineer whereby each drive is analysed in detail, using more than 80 items of vehicle-specific data. Mercedes-Benz Malaysia delivered 10,143 vehicles in 3Q 2018, a 16 per cent increase compared to the same period last year; while a market share of 2.5 per cent in total for 3Q 2018 records an improvement of 0.2 per cent from 3Q 2017. Thus far this year, MBM’s locally-produced limousines namely the Mercedes-Benz C-, E-, and S-Class, collectively recorded a total of 6,344 units sold. MBM’s range of premium compact cars comprising the Mercedes-Benz A-Class, B-Class, GLA-Class and CLA-Class recorded 1,268 units sold. These two segments recorded increases of 21.1 per cent and four per cent respectively compared to the the third quarter of last year.

The premium SUV range by Mercedes-Benz remained a growth driver recording 1,960 units sold, which translated into a 3.4 per cent increase compared to Q3 2017. Upholding the Best Customer Experience pillar and showcasing unparalleled expertise in caring for every Mercedes-Benz vehicle, MBM held the 2018 Mercedes-Benz SEA II Skills Competition in 3Q 2018. This year marked the competition’s 10th anniversary and first year opening its doors to the South East Asia II (SEAII) region. A total of 613 Customer Services Professionals and Advanced Modern Apprenticeship finalists competed for the title of best technician, service advisor and process specialist within the Mercedes-Benz network.

Moving into its service performance for 3Q 2018, MBM’s dealer network registered a service volume of 109,927 from 31 service centers, an increase of 16 per cent over the previous year. Noting the higher volume of vehicles serviced, MBM continued to once again uphold the highest standards of Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) which are a benchmark in Southeast Asia.

Mercedes-Benz Services Malaysia (MBSM), the financing arm of MBM, continued its growth trajectory in Q3 of 2018 maintaining a serviced portfolio of over RM2.5 billion, and continues to finance four out of 10 Mercedes-Benz cars sold in Malaysia. Enhancing the current service standard of finance and insurance products, customer car loan decisions at MBSM can now be undertaken in seconds through the implementation of a newly automated underwriting process for loan applications upon receipt of a complete set of required documents. Within one month of introduction of this service, MBSM was processing 15 per cent of applications via this efficient and convenient method.

To diversify its funding sources in anticipation of further growth prospects in the local market, MBSM recently issued a RM 3 billion corporate bond programme in Malaysia. MBSM received a credit rating of AAA by the independent credit rating agency RAM and its first issuance of RM 250 million of the bond program has been comprehensively taken up by local investors.

With an investment of RM41.6 million, this new pre-owned centre reflects the combined efforts of both principal and authorised dealer to provide customers with more options and thus forging an even greater connection to a wider customer audience for Mercedes-Benz vehicles. With a built-up area of 46,210 sq ft, the Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned Centre by Hap Seng Star Kinrara is able to display over 100 showroom vehicles, which makes it the biggest pre-owned centre and is managed by 24 personnel to deliver a complete one-stop solution in sales and financial services exclusively for Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-owned vehicles. The facility is equipped with a lifestyle café, children’s playground and Mercedes-Benz lifestyle products are also available for purchase.

Commenting on the launch, Hap Seng Consolidated Berhad Group Chief Operating Officer and Hap Seng Star Chief Executive, Mr Harald Behrend, said, “It gives us great pleasure to launch this standalone Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-owned centre in Malaysia. Here, in this dedicated facility, we are able to deliver to our customers the same driving experience as owners of a new Mercedes-Benz.”

To-date, this is Hap Seng Star‘s second Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-owned centre, the first centre was established in Hap Seng Star Balakong Autohaus in 2016. Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned Centre by Hap Seng Star Kinrara is located at No. 18, Jalan BK 1/13, Bandar Kinrara Industrial Park, Puchong, Selangor, on the same street as Mercedes-Benz Hap Seng Star Kinrara Autohaus.
