Mitsubishi has unveiled the brand-new Xforce, a compact SUV with an internal combustion engine (ICE) engine that is set to be made in Indonesia.

In terms of appearance and internal design, the production vehicle resembles the Mitsubishi XFC Concept from 2022 although with somewhat fewer amenities.

The Mitsubishi Xforce’s external design was already well known to us thanks to the official preview event conducted on July 31; however, we now get to glimpse the inside in addition to the precise specs. The contoured bodywork, the design of the grille, and the LED lighting units (similar to Thor’s Hammer lights from Volvo) on both ends give the SUV a generally contemporary and powerful appearance.

Mitsubishi is finally taking the fight to the Ford Ranger and the Toyota Hilux, with the introduction of the sixth version of the Triton midsize truck, which has received a complete makeover for the first time in nine years.

A bigger emphasis is placed on comfort and safety, and the tough bodywork is bigger than before. Also “newly developed” are the ladder frame chassis, suspension, and a more powerful turbo-diesel engine.

Compared to its predecessor, the new Triton has a boxier and more robust appearance while keeping several essential Mitsubishi characteristics, such as the split headlamps and a understated refined version of Mitsubishi’s Dynamic Shield surround the wider grille at the front, which is the truck’s focal point.

After years of dismal sales in a market that is fast shifting to electric vehicles, Mitsubishi Motors has paused its China operations indefinitely and will lay off personnel.

According to a business document distributed on Chinese social media on Wednesday, the manufacturer said that its existing line-up had been negatively impacted by China’s switch to cleaner vehicles and that sales had fallen well short of projections.

The memo’s contents were validated by a representative of Mitsubishi’s regional partner Guangzhou Automobile Group. Both automakers stated that all parties were striving to “optimise the employee structure” and that they would do all possible to protect the affected employees’ legal rights.

We have been looking forward to this one ever since we got the invite and the day has finally come where we managed to get our hands on the Mitsubishi Triton Athlete and take it on a proper off-road course in Tanamera, Shah Alam.

The event is open to the public and is happening from 24 to 25 June and Mitsubishi is inviting everyone to get the “Champion Xperience”. Should you choose to go, you will definitely get the excitement of a rally stage just as we did.

As soon as you enter, you’re greeted by a fleet of Triton Athletes and also displayed is an absolute legend, the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI Tommi Makinen Edition. This beast is powered by a 2.0-litre 16-valve DOC intercooler/turbocharged unit with 280 PS and 373Nm of torque! It really needs no introduction other than that.

Mitsubishi has teased a new compact crossover which will make its debut at the Indonesia International Auto Show in August before going on sale in ASEAN countries. The carmaker is yet to release the name, but we have a few teasers that show both the exterior and the interior.

A compact sport utility vehicle or compact SUV is a class of small sport utility vehicles that is larger than mini SUVs, but smaller than mid-size SUVs. Many current compact SUVs are technically compact crossovers built on a compact/C-segment passenger car platform, while certain models may be based on a mid-size car (D-segment) or a B-segment platform.

The new vehicle market in the East Coast region of Peninsular Malaysia has historically been smaller than that of the west coast. Nevertheless, it has steadily grown over the years and now with more roads and a highway connecting more of the region to the west coast, more people are keen to have their own cars.

The development of the East Coast has obviously been watched by the car companies and they have been opening more outlets in states like Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang. The latest to do so is Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) which recently officially opened a new Mitsubishi Motors 3S Centre in Kemaman, Terengganu.
