New Mazda CX-3 debuts – RM135,082.99

Bermaz launches all-new Mazda CX-3 compact crossover in Malaysia at RM135,082.99 (OTR with insurance).

Malaysian Mazda cars partner Bermaz Motor Sdn Bhd (Bermaz) has expanded the Mazda brand’s model range for the local market following its introduction of the all-new Mazda CX-3 compact crossover. The newest competitor in the popular B-segment crossover segment was launched the Bermaz Glenmarie HQ, Shah Alam with much fan-fare.

Underpinning the successful and acclaimed Mazda2 compact model, the Malaysian-flavoured Mazda CX-3 is powered by the Japanese brand’s signature Skyactiv powertrain suite. The package consists firstly with a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder Skyactiv-G petrol engine that offers 154hp and 204Nm of torque. The mill is paired with a six-speed Skyactiv-Drive automatic transmission with steering-mounted paddle shifters that is tasked at transmitting power to the front wheels.

Enhancing the powertrain further is Mazda’s i-Stop automatic engine idling stop system that lowers both fuel consumption and carbon emissions, making the CX-3 one of the ‘greenest’ cars in its segment presently.

On board, the CX-3’s cabin design is identical to the Mazda 2, but it does feature several notable premium amenities. Notable highlights include the black leather-suede combination cabin upholstery with contrasting red highlights, followed by the intuitive MZD Connect seven-inch touchscreen infotainment unit that can also be controlled using a rotary knob.

Furthermore, buyers also have the option to upgrade the suite with added navigation function. This will however cost an additional RM1,270 on top of the CX-3’s asking price. Notable standard features include a heads-up display for drivers, keyless cabin entry and engine start, a reverse camera, as well as an automatic air-conditioning system.

On the safety front, the CX-3 comes standard equipped with ABS, EBD and BA braking suite, six airbags lining its cabin, along with hill-start assist and emergency stop signal features.

Available in five paint scheme options, the new and fully-imported (CBU) from Japan Mazda CX-3 is priced on-the-road with insurance at RM135,082.99. Said price includes Bermaz’ “3+3 Years Free Warranty and Maintenance” after-sales package as well.
