No Road Works On Voting Day To Avoid Congestions

In conjunction with the State Election (PRN) in six states this coming August 12, the Ministry of Public Works (KKR) will make sure that there is no disruption to traffic flow on the highway due to road maintenance and construction projects, including the Lebuh Raya Lingkaran Tengah Utama (LTU) project.

According to Bernama, the deputy minister of public works, Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Mohamad said the construction work would end early since his department anticipates migrant cars to begin entering the district on August 11.

For the convenience of other road users, the Ministry of Public Works continuously monitors the LTU project, which entails a journey of more than 360 kilometres. The construction of the LTU, formerly known as the Central Spine Road (CSR) towards Kelantan, is going on without interruption.

In additional developments, Abdul Rahman reported that the installation of five new bridge beams across the Chiku River for the LTU Package 2 project Sungai Lakit Bridge to Gua Musang, Section 2B: Paloh 2 to Bukit Sejuk will cause some traffic congestion for two days in the Felda Chiku area up to Paloh on August 1 and 2. As an alternative, users can use Jalan Felda Aring for the Kota Bharu to Kuala Lumpur route.

However, as the installation of the beam is done in stages according to the designated period and not during peak hours, there won’t be a significant amount of traffic congestion.

Abdul Rahman said, this package is one of the projects to be quickly implemented for the convenience of the people of the East Coast, especially from Kota Bharu, Kuala Krai, Gua Musang and on to Lipis, Raub and Bentong.
