New Mercedes-AMG GLC Coupe Launched – 680hp, 1020Nm Of Torque

The Mercedes-AMG GLC Coupé, a new addition to the successful midsize series by Mercedes-AMG, exemplifies a blend of dynamic and characteristic AMG features. This model, like its SUV counterpart, is a powerful and sporty offering, appealing to customers seeking a sporty lifestyle coupled with impressive performance.

Design and Aesthetics

The GLC Coupé boasts a sporty silhouette characterized by a flowing transition towards the rear, accentuating its width and creating an impression of dynamic movement. The design elements, such as the AMG-specific radiator trim, front apron, and precise side edges, underline the sporty proportions of the vehicle. Additionally, the powerful wheel arches and the wheel options ranging from 19 to 21 inches add to the confident appearance.

The interior of it is carefully designed to provide a sporty and luxurious atmosphere. Features like AMG seats in Artico man-made leather / Microcut AMG microfibre, the AMG Performance steering wheel, and illuminated door sills with AMG lettering contribute to the overall sporty aesthetic.

Performance and Drivetrain

The heart of the GLC Coupé is the AMG 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine, known as M139l, incorporating innovative technologies and high performance while maintaining efficiency. One notable feature is the electric exhaust gas turbocharger powered by a 48-volt on-board electrical system. This setup ensures a highly responsive engine across the speed range, leading to a more dynamic driving experience and improved efficiency.

The GLC 63 S E Performance Coupé stands out as the brand’s first performance hybrid SUV coupé. It combines the 2.0-litre engine with a permanently excited synchronous electric motor, a high-performance battery, and the AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive. The total system output of 680hp and a maximum system torque of 1,020Nm result in exhilarating performance, allowing the car to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in just 3.5 seconds with a top speed of 275km/h.

Driving Dynamics

To complement its power, it features various driving dynamics enhancements. These include the AMG Ride Control steel spring suspension with adaptive damping adjustment, active roll stabilisation (AMG Active Ride Control), and AMG Dynamics driving programmes. The AMG Dynamic Select driving programmes offer a wide range of vehicle characteristics, allowing the driver to tailor the driving experience to their preferences and driving conditions.

Special Edition and Packages

For a more exclusive touch, the Performance Coupé is available in an Edition 1 variant. This version includes specific design elements, such as an AMG aerodynamics package, AMG Exterior Night package I and II, and AMG tank cap in silver chrome with “AMG” lettering, adding to its distinctiveness.

Additionally, customers have the option to personalise their GLC Coupé with various equipment packages. These packages, such as the AMG Exterior Night Package and AMG Exterior Carbon Package, allow customers to tailor their cars to suit their individual tastes and preferences.
