Pagani Imola Roadster: A Hypercar Marvel With Open-Air Prowess

Pagani has revealed its latest creation, the Imola Roadster, a convertible version of the Imola hypercar, and it’s set to be an exclusive production with only eight units. Building upon the track performance of the Imola coupe and incorporating the open-air experience and advanced technology of the Huayra Roadster BC, this roadster is poised to be a show-stopper.

Under the hood, the Imola Roadster boasts a potent 6.0-litre V12 engine sourced from Mercedes-AMG. This powerplant has been tuned to deliver an impressive 838hp and 1099Nm of torque. Paired with a Pagani-tuned 7-speed Xtrac sequential transmission, the roadster can achieve a top speed of 350km/h.

To accommodate the increased power, Pagani undertook a meticulous redesign of the body, addressing cooling requirements by enlarging the front intakes and discreetly adding outlets for hot air. These subtle yet purposeful design elements contribute to enhanced aerodynamics and cooling efficiency.

The Imola Roadster’s aerodynamic prowess is further exemplified by the addition of a prominent scoop over the seats, strategically designed to stabilise the car at high speeds. This, combined with a fin behind it, aids in achieving 600kg of downforce at 280km/h. The car is engineered to generate up to 2.2 g of lateral force and 2.2 g of braking force.

Despite the efforts to enhance aerodynamics, Pagani managed to shed weight using advanced materials. The chassis is constructed with Carbo-Titanium HP62-G2 and Carbo-Triax HP62, contributing to a lightweight structure weighing just 1,260 kg. Additionally, the Acquarello Light paint helps reduce weight by 5kg.

The Imola Roadster incorporates cutting-edge features, including four highly sophisticated flaps for active aero assistance and an intelligent suspension system that minimises dive, squat, and roll, delivering a handling performance akin to a racecar.

Inside the cabin, Pagani emphasises a blend of luxury and mechanical sophistication. Carbo-wood trim, finely embossed leather, and intricate details showcase the craftsmanship. The car also features a seven-channel audio system with speakers strategically positioned for an immersive audio experience.

While Pagani has not disclosed the pricing for the Imola Roadster, given its exclusivity, advanced technology, and performance capabilities, it is expected to command a multimillion-dollar price tag. With only eight units available, the Imola Roadster is likely to become a prized collector’s item.
