Transport Minister Unveils Exclusive “GOLD” Series Number Plates

In honour of the 50th Federal Territories Day celebrations, the Road Transport Department (RTD) has announced the commencement of bidding tenders for exclusive registration numbers featuring the “GOLD” prefix. Transport Minister Anthony Loke unveiled this special GOLD series as a symbolic tribute.

Prospective bidders eager to own these unique number plates can participate through JPJebid starting from February 1 until February 5 at 10 pm, with the results being announced on February 6. Minister Loke specified that the auction would include varying starting prices for different categories of numbers.

Golden numbers, considered the most sought-after, will commence bidding at RM20,000. Those interested in attractive numbers can bid from RM3,000, while popular numbers can be secured from RM800. For those seeking running numbers, the entry point starts at a modest RM300.

Loke emphasised that successful bids must be registered to a vehicle within 12 months of the official results, starting from the date the official bid decision letter is issued. He highlighted the success of the previous “FF” series bidding, which generated RM35 million for the government. The minister expressed optimism, setting a high target for the GOLD series, hoping it surpasses the success of the FF series.
