Repossession Agent Admits to Trespass, Receives RM2,800 Fine

A 24-year-old vehicle repossession agent was fined RM2,800 by the Magistrate’s Court here after admitting to trespassing into the home of a car owner in Bandar Amanjaya, according to NST.

The court heard that Muhammad Aiman Mudzakir Azmi unlawfully entered the property around 7pm on 14 June, despite the premises being secured with a locked gate. His actions led to a charge under Section 448 of the Penal Code for criminal trespass. The offence carries a penalty of up to three years in prison, a fine not exceeding RM5,000, or both, upon conviction.

Magistrate Khairatul Animah Jelani imposed the fine following Muhammad Aiman’s guilty plea. The court took into account his admission of guilt, which was said to have expedited the proceedings.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Nur Hazwani Md Noor led the prosecution, while Muhammad Aiman was represented by counsel from the National Legal Aid Foundation.

In mitigation, the accused requested leniency, citing financial responsibilities, including supporting both his parents and a younger sibling who is still in school. He appealed for the court’s compassion, emphasising that his early plea had saved judicial time and resources.

The case concluded with the fine being imposed instead of further custodial action.
