Land Rover has introduced the Defender OCTA Black, a striking new interpretation of its high-performance off-roader that blends extreme capability with heightened luxury and an unmistakably bold attitude.
This new variant of the Defender OCTA sets itself apart with a dramatic Narvik Black finish, the deepest shade available in the Defender palette. While a glossy finish comes standard, owners can opt for a Matte Protective Film for added personalisation. In total, more than 30 elements on its exterior have been redesigned in black, contributing to a more purposeful and aggressive presence.
Both the front undershield and rear scuff plates are now treated with Satin Black Powder Coat, while recovery eyes at both ends match in the same subdued finish. The tow eye cover at the front and quad exhaust outlets at the rear are rendered in Gloss Black, enhancing its visual symmetry.
Even the Land Rover grille emblem has been updated, featuring a dark silver script within a black oval. The underbody, including the exhaust silencer cover and the optional deployable towbar, also adopts a gloss or satin black finish.
Buyers can choose between 20-inch forged wheels or 22-inch Gloss Black alloys, both fitted with black centre caps and Shadow Atlas Defender script. Gloss Black brake callipers featuring Sentient Silver script complete the menacing exterior package.
Inside, the Defender OCTA Black continues its theme of elevated ruggedness. It debuts Ebony Semi-Aniline Leather combined with Kvadrat fabric, marking the first use of this material pairing in a Defender. The Performance Seats feature distinctive perforation patterns and refined stitching, with Carpathian Grey accents on seat backs and armrest hinges that add contrast and sophistication.
The dashboard Cross Car Beam is finished in Satin Black Powder Coat, while buyers seeking further exclusivity can opt for a Chopped Carbon Fibre interior trim—an ideal match for the SUV’s aggressive character.
Underneath its sleek styling, the Defender OCTA Black retains all the mechanical prowess of the standard Defender OCTA. Powered by a 4.4-litre twin-turbo mild-hybrid V8 producing 635PS, the SUV is equipped with advanced 6D Dynamics suspension and a dedicated OCTA Mode that enhances off-road performance.
Adding to the sensory experience is the inclusion of Body and Soul Seats (BASS), developed in collaboration with audio innovator SUBPAC. Integrated with the 700W, 15-speaker Meridian Surround Sound System, BASS technology enables front-seat occupants not only to hear but also to physically feel their music. The system uses AI-enhanced software—the same used by elite recording professionals—to deliver immersive, high-fidelity vibro-acoustic performance.
The Defender OCTA Black stands as a new benchmark in the Defender line-up, combining dynamic strength and visual impact with luxurious detail, ensuring it performs as confidently on city streets as it does on extreme terrain.
