Mitsubishi Triton Takes Centre Stage at ‘Live the Drive’ Event in Kota Bharu

Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM), the official distributor of Mitsubishi vehicles in the country, is bringing its adrenaline-charged “Live the Drive” event to the outdoor car park of AEON Kota Bharu from 25 to 26 July 2025. Running from 10.00am to 10.00pm daily, the event invites the public to experience first-hand what sets the Mitsubishi Triton apart in the competitive pick-up segment.

Central to the event is a purpose-built off-road course designed to highlight the Mitsubishi Triton’s advanced features, including the Super Select 4WD-II system, intelligent seven-drive modes, and an upgraded rigid frame chassis. The demonstration aims to give participants a closer look at how the Triton delivers uncompromised performance, comfort, and control—even in extreme conditions.

A series of off-road challenges will be available to showcase the Triton’s engineering capabilities. Among them is the Uneven Rocky Terrain course, simulating plantation and construction site conditions, where the Triton’s combination of grip control and seat comfort stands out. In the Elephant Steps challenge, the vehicle’s 4LLC low-range gearing is pushed to its limits as it maintains traction even with a lifted wheel.

Another highlight is the Side Ramp obstacle, where the new chassis rigidity is tested at a 45-degree tilt. Despite the steep angle, the Triton maintains composure and stability. Meanwhile, the Water Wading Challenge is designed to mimic flash flood conditions, with up to 700mm of standing water. The Triton breezes through this task, proving its all-terrain credibility.

Urban usability is also on display in the U-Turn Obstacle Course, where drivers can test the Triton’s full-time 4WD (4H) on paved surfaces, simulating conditions found in city driving. The truck’s SUV-like manoeuvrability at both low and moderate speeds aims to impress urban drivers as much as off-road enthusiasts.

Adding to the fun is the Water Bucket Test Drive Challenge, where participants attempt to complete the circuit without spilling water from a full bucket. Prizes will be awarded to the smoothest drivers, including a Naturehike Camping Wagon worth RM500, a 50L Foldable Box valued at RM400, and a portable fan worth RM200.

Visitors will also be introduced to the Mitsubishi Triton Athlete, now available from RM159,980 (on-the-road without insurance, Peninsular Malaysia). With bold styling, powerful performance, and rugged dependability, the Triton Athlete stands as one of the brand’s flagship offerings.

In celebration of Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia’s 20th anniversary, the company is offering up to RM18,000 in savings for selected Triton models. These limited-time incentives are expected to draw significant interest from potential buyers.

Those who participate in a test drive during the event will receive a complimentary foldable bucket bag, while customers who make a booking on any Mitsubishi model will also take home a Naturehike Cooler Box—ideal for road trips and outdoor activities.

The “Live the Drive” event promises an engaging weekend of driving thrills, interactive challenges, and exclusive rewards. With the spotlight firmly on the Mitsubishi Triton, residents in Kota Bharu are encouraged to experience the strength, versatility, and excitement of Mitsubishi’s award-winning pick-up truck first-hand.
