In conjunction with the 2025 National Day celebrations, public transport operators will extend their services to ensure seamless travel for Malaysians heading to the festivities.
All rail lines, including the Light Rail Transit (LRT), Mass Rapid Transit (MRT), monorail and the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Sunway route, will run on a 24-hour schedule across two days, 30 and 31 August. The move is aimed at supporting the large crowds expected to attend the celebrations while providing a convenient and reliable travel option.
Rapid KL will also be deploying additional bus services through its Rapid KL On-Demand (ROD) platform. To complement the extended rail operations, 96 free shuttle buses will ferry passengers directly to Dataran Putrajaya, the main venue for the National Day festivities.
The initiative follows the success of last year’s extended operations, which proved effective in managing the surge in commuters during the celebrations.
By continuing the 24-hour service this year, Prasarana aims to enhance accessibility and ensure that participants can travel safely and comfortably throughout the national event.
With the celebrations set to draw thousands, the round-the-clock operation of both rail and bus services is expected to play a key role in keeping traffic congestion under control while encouraging more people to rely on public transport.
