The Porsche 911 Turbo S has never been short of praise. Its predecessor was already regarded as the ultimate all-rounder – blistering performance mixed with everyday comfort, long-distance capability and that touch of exclusivity Porsche owners love. Now, the latest version takes things to a whole new level, delivering more power, sharper dynamics, smarter aerodynamics and an even more premium finish.
At the heart of it all is a brand-new T-Hybrid powertrain producing a staggering 711PS and 800Nm of torque, making this the most powerful production 911 ever built. Power is available across a wide rev range, with full output kicking in between 6,500 and 7,000 rpm.
The system uses Porsche’s 400V lightweight hybrid technology and two electric turbochargers – a step up from the single eTurbo setup that debuted in the Carrera GTS. This not only boosts outright performance but also sharpens throttle response, eliminating the lag often associated with turbocharged engines.
Performance figures are as wild as you’d expect. The 911 Turbo S sprints from 0-100km/h in just 2.5 seconds, half a second quicker to 200km/h than before, and tops out at 322km/h. Despite the added weight of the hybrid system, around 85 kg more than its predecessor, the extra punch more than makes up for it. Proof? It lapped the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 7:03.92 minutes, 14 seconds quicker than the old model.
Power is sent through an eight-speed PDK with an integrated electric motor to Porsche’s all-wheel-drive system. The chassis has been comprehensively reworked too, with wider 325/30 ZR21 tyres at the rear, updated suspension tuning and the largest PCCB ceramic brakes ever fitted to a two-door Porsche – 420 mm up front and 410 mm at the rear. New brake pads improve both stopping power and pedal feel, while wider rubber ensures stability under hard acceleration.
Aerodynamics have also been taken to another level. The Turbo S uses a network of active elements – cooling flaps at the front, an adaptive diffuser, a redesigned front lip and a tilting rear wing – all working together to improve efficiency and downforce depending on driving conditions. The drag coefficient is down by 10 per cent compared with its predecessor, and in wet mode, the system even helps shield the brakes from excess water spray for more reliable stopping power.
To keep the car flat and composed through corners, Porsche has fitted the Turbo S with an electro-hydraulic Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control system as standard. This active roll stabilisation tech, powered by the 400V hybrid setup, makes the car more predictable and agile without compromising comfort. An optional lift system on the front axle raises the car more quickly than before, making it easier to clear speed bumps and steep driveways.
The drama continues with the sound. A new titanium sports exhaust comes as standard, specially tuned to give the 3.6-litre boxer engine an even more emotive tone, complete with asymmetrical valve timing for added character. It also saves nearly 7 kg, proving performance and theatre can go hand in hand.
Visually, the Turbo S now introduces Porsche’s cross-series Turbo design identity. Exclusive Turbonite accents are applied to details such as the badging, Porsche crest and trim pieces, instantly setting it apart from other 911s. The car’s wider stance, reworked rear fascia with larger ventilation openings, and titanium exhaust tips give it an aggressive yet sophisticated presence.
Inside, the same Turbonite theme carries through on the stitching, steering wheel, belts, and even the Sport Chrono stopwatch, paired with new carbon-structured trim and a perforated microfibre headliner.
Standard equipment includes HD Matrix LED headlights, adaptive 18-way Sports Seats Plus with Turbo S embossing, and the Sport Chrono Package. Buyers who want to push further can dip into Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur’s endless personalisation options, from carbon-fibre roof panels and rear intakes to lightweight carbon wiper arms and a range of over 100 exterior colours through Paint to Sample. Even the keys can be painted to match the car.
The new 911 Turbo S is available as both coupé and cabriolet, with a choice of two-seat or 2+2 layouts depending on body style. Whichever you go for, one thing is certain: Porsche has taken an already world-class benchmark and raised it once again.
