Naza Italia Sdn Bhd has formally notified Maserati S.p.A. that it will withdraw from its role as the official importer and distributor of Maserati vehicles in Malaysia, bringing an end to a partnership that has been in place for more than 15 years.
The notice, submitted in line with the 180-day requirement under the agreement signed on 1 January 2009, marks the beginning of a structured transition period.
As Naza Automotive Group moves towards this handover, Naza Italia said it will honour every obligation outlined in the agreement, ensuring that the next six months proceed without disruption for customers or partners.
The company emphasised that its approach throughout the transition will reflect the professionalism and clarity that have shaped its dealings over the years.
It also acknowledged the close working relationship it has built with Maserati S.p.A., describing the partnership as one defined by mutual trust, shared goals and a long period of collaborative growth.
The end of the Maserati distributorship forms part of a much broader strategic shift within the Naza Automotive Group. The company is sharpening its focus on key brands and new growth sectors, signalling a more defined path forward for its automotive division.
Part of this plan involves the expansion of Suzuki Cars Malaysia’s network, which has been identified as a major area of growth for the group. At the same time, Naza Auto is developing a new performance-luxury retail concept through Stars@Mercedes-Benz in Bangsar, reflecting a growing emphasis on premium customer experiences.
Customer service enhancements, investment in digital platforms, and an active search for new brand partnerships are also central to the group’s next chapter.
This includes the exploration of electric mobility brands and potential regional opportunities within ASEAN, indicating that Naza Auto aims to build a more diversified and future-ready portfolio.
With a clearer strategy in place and renewed focus on operational strength, Naza Automotive Group is positioning itself for a new phase of expansion.
The company believes that this shift will allow it to deliver stronger long-term value to its customers, partners, and stakeholders, while reinforcing its role in Malaysia’s evolving automotive landscape.
