No Increase in Price For Singapore Vehicles Entering Malaysia

Due to the potential impact of Singapore reciprocating, the government will not raise the current road fee of RM20.

“There are no plans for the government to raise the road fee for Singapore-registered vehicles entering Malaysia,” said transport minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook.

If we increase the road charge for Singaporean vehicles, Singapore will also impose a higher road charge for Malaysian vehicles entering Singapore. Thus, we have to look at reciprocity,” he added.

This decision is also to boost Malaysia’s tourism sector which encourages more visitors from Singapore to enter Malaysia as they play an important role in strengthening the economy.

“We want to encourage the influx of Singaporean tourists to Johor for economic development,” Loke said.

All foreign-registered private vehicles, excluding motorcycles, are subject to the RM20 fee at the two Woodlands immigration checkpoints as well as the Tuas Second Link.
