2023 JMC Vigus Pro White Series Launched – 141PS, 340Nm – RM99,888

Angka-Tan Motor Sdn Bhd (ATM), the official distributor of JMC vehicles in Malaysia has introduced the JMC Vigus Pro White Series for its pickup truck lineup.

According to ATM, the JMC Vigus Pro White Series is the most affordable automatic transmission 4×4 workhorse in the 1-tonne pick-up segment, making it the all-essential workhorse for corporates and SMEs. The JMC Vigus Pro White Series is the extension of the JMC Vigus Pro Premium Series. The Vigus Pro lineup now offers two alternatives to consumers with the most recent release: the White Series and the Premium Series.

But we are here to talk about the White Series. It is 5305mm in length overall, 1905mm wide, 1835mm tall, and has a 3085mm wheelbase. The pick-up truck also has a 6.5m turning radius, 225mm of ground clearance, and a 1995kg kerb weight.

It rolls on 16-inch alloy wheels (265/70 profile tyres), and it has automatic halogen projector headlights, LED DRLs, front and rear fog lamps, rain-sensing wipers and a bed liner, heated and powered side mirrors with turn signals, side steps, a rear step bumper and a sport bar with integrated third brake light.

The White Series has a Puma 2.0L inline-four diesel engine with a variable geometry turbocharger and intercooler and is paired with the ZF 8-speed automatic gearbox with manual mode and a BorgWarner four-wheel-drive system. This four-wheel drive system offers a low-range transfer box for off-road and SUV applications. This system allows drivers to switch between two- and four-wheel drive modes, providing improved traction and off-road capabilities.

It delivers 141PS at 3600rpm and 340Nm of torque from 1500 to 2600rpm. It includes a 68-litre petrol tank, hydraulic rack power steering, and beds that are 1,475 mm long, 1,475 mm broad, and 500mm in height.

On the inside, you will find an eight-inch touchscreen head unit with Bluetooth, four speakers, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, paddle shifters, cruise control, manual air conditioning, and a speed-sensing auto door lock. There is also a 3.5-inch multi-info display situated in the middle of analogue metres.

While the White Series and Premium Series have a lot of similarities, the latter lacks a few elements. The door visors, door sill plates, tinting, tailgate assist and a digital video recorder from the Premium Series aren’t included in the workhorse model.

For safety, the two airbags, ABS, EBD, ESP, traction control, hill start assist, hill descent control, a rearview camera, front and rear parking sensors, and ISOFIX child seat anchors from the Premium Series are also included in the White Series.

As the name states, the White Series comes only in Arctic White and is priced at RM99,888, on the road without insurance. It is covered by a 3-year or 100,000km warranty.
