Proton e.MAS 7 Surges Ahead with Over 2,700 Units Delivered in Just Four Months

Proton’s entry into the electric vehicle segment has made an emphatic impact, with more than 2,700 units of the Proton e.MAS 7 delivered across Malaysia and export markets within just four months. Since its launch in January 2025, the fully electric SUV has recorded an average of one unit sold every hour—an impressive feat that underscores the model’s strong reception among Malaysian buyers.

In April alone, 863 units of the e.MAS 7 were registered, both locally and abroad. This consistent performance has enabled the vehicle to maintain a commanding 26% share of the electric vehicle market in Malaysia for the fourth consecutive month, cementing its position as a market leader.

Zhang Qiang, Chief Executive Officer of PRO-NET—Proton’s EV-focused subsidiary—attributed the success to growing public trust and a clear shift in consumer sentiment toward electric mobility. He noted that Malaysians have demonstrated an eagerness to embrace the EV transition, and the e.MAS 7 has become the preferred choice for families, working professionals, and those upgrading from internal combustion engine vehicles.

The e.MAS 7’s appeal lies in its balance of modern technology, practical design, and affordability, making it a compelling option in a rapidly evolving automotive landscape. This performance is not only a commercial triumph but also reflects the broader national momentum toward sustainable transportation.

In line with growing demand, PRO-NET has been actively developing the supporting EV infrastructure. Through its Integrated Live Charging Map—accessible via the vehicle’s built-in navigation system and the Proton e.MAS mobile app—owners can locate over 2,500 charging stations nationwide, with coverage extending to more than 90% of the country. Notably, PRO-NET has addressed the unique needs of urban residents by installing over 1,000 chargers at 397 high-rise residential buildings, enhancing convenience for those without access to private parking.

Efforts are ongoing to expand charging accessibility, with new partnerships being forged with charge point operators to further widen the network. The company aims to ensure that e.MAS 7 owners remain within close proximity to a charging station, regardless of location.

In terms of aftersales service, the e.MAS 7 can be serviced at 24 Proton 3S (Sales, Service, and Spare Parts) Centres throughout Malaysia. An additional 10 Body and Paint Centres are currently operational to support repairs and cosmetic work, with further expansions of both facilities planned in the near future.

Looking ahead, PRO-NET is focused on refining the customer journey to deliver a seamless and satisfying ownership experience. Zhang indicated that this early success is just the foundation, with continued improvements across services, infrastructure, and customer engagement planned as the company grows its EV footprint.

With a starting price of RM105,800 for the Prime variant and RM119,800 for the Premium version, the Proton e.MAS 7 delivers exceptional value, combining competitive pricing with leading-edge features and performance. Every unit on the road represents a consumer choosing a greener path, and PRO-NET sees this as central to its mission to make electric mobility affordable and enjoyable for all Malaysians.
