AEON Credit has introduced Malaysia’s first credit card designed exclusively for bikers, the AEON Biker Visa Card. Unlike conventional credit cards, this one offers tailored benefits that cater to the real needs of motorcycle riders, from savings on servicing and spare parts to insurance and lifestyle rewards.

For too long, bikers have had to rely on generic financial products that don’t match the unique cost of maintaining a motorcycle — where replacing just one tire can cost more than a full set for a car. With this card, AEON Credit is putting riders back in the spotlight, recognizing the role bikers play in keeping Malaysia moving.

There was a time when we walked into a café with our heads held high as bikers, enjoying special privileges and discounts simply because we ride.

The AEON Biker Visa Card isn’t just a payment tool. It’s a statement of identity, restoring the sense of pride and privilege that comes with life on two wheels.

Types of AEON Biker Visa Card
There are two variants of the AEON Biker Visa Card, each extensively researched and tailored to suit different motorcycling needs:

  1. AEON Biker Infinite Visa Card: Perfect for those who frequently travel abroad, whether crossing borders on a motorcycle, or flying overseas. This premium card offers travel-focused benefits and exclusive privileges.
  2. AEON Biker Visa Gold Card: Ideal for riders who commute daily, with everyday rewards tailored to the needs of local riders.

Before diving into the full list of features and benefits, let’s take a closer look at what the AEON Biker Visa Card has to offer.

Ride Rewards That Matter
The cost of motorcycling has surged over the past five years, from spare parts and servicing to safety gear and accessories. A snapped CVT belt on a scooter alone can cost around RM400. Add to that the rising prices of lubricants, tires, and quality riding gear like helmets, jackets, gloves, and footwear, and it’s clear that being a responsible rider isn’t cheap.

That’s why the AEON Biker Visa Card rewards you for spending on what matters most to bikers:

  • Up to 8% cashback on motorcycle spare parts, accessories, merchandise, and service. (8% for Biker Infinite, 5% for Biker Gold.)
  • 8% cashback overseas spend (for Biker Infinite only).
  • 2% cashback for petrol (capped at RM20 for Biker Infinite, RM15 for Biker Gold per month).
  • 2% cashback for insurance.
  • 0.5% cashback for selected retail transactions.

Travel Rewards

For riders who frequently travel abroad, the AEON Biker Visa Infinite offers exclusive perks to elevate your journeys. In addition to earning 8% cashback on overseas spending, cardholders enjoy premium travel privileges such as:

  • 8x complimentary access to Plaza Premium Lounge (includes 1 guest per visit).
  • Access to Visa Concierge Services and a curated selection of luxury hotel partners via the Visa platform.

Wherever the road or skies take you, the Biker Visa Infinite ensures your travel experience is seamless and rewarding.

Events & Communities
There’s nothing quite like the bond between bikers, built through shared passion, stories, and the open road. AEON Biker Visa Cardholders are invited to join exclusive events that celebrate this camaraderie:

  • Invitations to motorcycle rallies and group rides, with VIP access for Biker Infinite cardholders.
  • Complimentary or discounted entry to major bike shows and gatherings in Malaysia.
  • Special privileges at selected motorcycle dealerships and merchandise outlets.

Insurance Rewards

Accidents often happen when we least expect them and as bikers, we’ve either faced emergencies ourselves or witnessed fellow riders struggle without proper insurance coverage. Unfortunately, many still carry the “it-won’t-happen-to-me” mindset… until it does.

The AEON Biker Visa Card is designed to provide peace of mind , offering complimentary insurance coverage that helps protect you on every ride, whether on Malaysian roads or beyond.

This protection is especially critical for riders crossing borders. For example, if you ride into Thailand and are involved in an accident, you could be held financially liable on the spot, or even barred from leaving the country until the settlement is made. Having proper travel and medical protection isn’t just smart, it’s essential.

What’s more, many forget that travel insurance also covers local travel within Malaysia, not just international trips.

With the AEON Biker Visa Card, you’re automatically covered with:

  • Up to RM500,000 complimentary coverage (Biker Infinite).
  • Up to RM4,000 coverage (Biker Gold).

Coverage includes:

  • 24-hour personal accident insurance.
  • Travel accident protection (Biker Infinite only).
  • Travel delay coverage (Biker Infinite only).
  • Ambulance fees.

Wherever you ride, ride with confidence, backed by protection that travels with you.

Other Rewards & Financial Flexibility
Beyond cashback and lifestyle benefits, the AEON Biker Visa Card also gives you powerful financial tools that go far beyond typical “buy now, pay later” services .

While 0% instalment plans are commonly available on certain online shopping platforms, the AEON Biker Visa Card stands out by providing three additional features:

Balance Transfer
Transfer outstanding balances from other credit cards to consolidate your payments into one manageable monthly plan. This is something you can’t do with standard online shopping credit.

Ready Cash
Access cash when you need it most, whether you’re travelling to places that only accept physical currency or when QR payment options are unavailable. In contrast, online shopping credit is limited to platform-specific use and does not allow cash withdrawals.

Flexi Payment Plan
Enjoy the freedom to pay your bill at your own pace, whether it’s the minimum amount or more. Unlike fixed-repayment buy now, pay later services, you are not restricted to rigid terms.
With the AEON Biker Visa Card, you don’t just earn rewards, you gain real financial flexibility built for riders who value control, convenience, and peace of mind.

AEON Biker Visa Credit Card Launch Campaign
To celebrate the launch of the AEON Biker Visa Card, new cardholders will receive a complimentary set of Baseus W04 Wireless Earbuds, perfect for life on the move.

Here’s how to qualify:
1. Apply and get approved for the AEON Biker Visa Card.
2. Activate your card.
3. Spend a minimum of RM500 in cumulative retail transactions within the campaign period.

Campaign period: 17 June to 16 September 2025

Conclusion
So, is the AEON Biker Visa Card worth having? Absolutely.

From cashback on essentials and lifestyle rewards to insurance protection and exclusive events, the benefits are designed to support the real needs of bikers both on and off the road.

It is more than just a credit card. It’s your companion on every journey.

Chery Auto Malaysia is stepping up its game with the launch of the Tiggo Cross, offering Malaysian consumers two compelling powertrain options – a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine and a 1.5-litre hybrid (CSH). Both variants present a modern blend of technology, comfort, and safety aimed at value-conscious buyers without compromising on premium features.

The Tiggo Cross 1.5 Turbo is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine producing 147PS and 210Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT). This variant boasts a respectable 0–100 km/h time of 10.3 seconds in Sport mode and fuel consumption rated at 6.3L/100km.

Meanwhile, the Tiggo Cross 1.5 Hybrid CSH integrates a petrol engine with electric motors, delivering a combined output of 204PS and 310Nm of torque. It is more efficient with a fuel consumption figure of 5.4L/100km and a quicker acceleration time of 8.9 seconds. The hybrid model uses a DHT150 transmission with electronic shift-by-wire functionality.

This advanced CSH system delivers a smooth, fuel-efficient, and responsive drive — perfect
for both urban journeys and long-distance travel up to 1,000km mileage range.

Both variants share the same dimensions: 4318mm long, 1830mm wide, and 1670mm tall, riding on a 2610mm wheelbase, roughly the same size as a Proton X50. The suspension system comprises a MacPherson strut setup at the front and a torsion beam at the rear, with ventilated disc brakes at the front and solid discs at the rear.

Inside, the Tiggo Cross comes equipped with faux leather seats, dual-zone automatic air conditioning with rear vents, and a multifunction leather steering wheel. Both models feature front and rear armrests, ambient lighting, a wireless charger, a keyless entry system, remote engine start, and soft-touch materials across the dashboard.

The driver’s seat is electrically adjustable with lumbar support, while the co-driver’s seat is manually adjustable. Rear seats split 60:40 and offer three headrests. A total of three USB ports (two front, one rear) come as standard.

The dashboard features a dual-screen setup comprising a 10.25-inch digital driver display and a 10.25-inch infotainment head unit, supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other highlights include Bluetooth connectivity, a 540° HD panoramic camera system, an intelligent voice assistant, and a 6-speaker audio system.

Design-wise, both models are outfitted with LED headlights, daytime running lights (DRLs), tail lamps, fog lights, roof rails, and a rear sport spoiler. The cars sit on stylish 18-inch alloy wheels with red brake callipers for a sporty touch. Automatic headlights and a “Follow Me Home” function further enhance the vehicle’s practicality and style.

Chery prioritises safety with both variants receiving Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Brake Assist System (BAS), Hill Start Assist Control (HAC), Traction Control System (TCS), Emergency Brake Assist (EBA), and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). The Turbo variant comes with 6 airbags, while the Hybrid version is upgraded to 7.

The Hybrid CSH model stands out with its extended Advanced Driving Assistance System (ADAS) suite, which enhances safety and driving convenience. This includes Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Departure Prevention (LDP), Lane Keep Assist (ELK), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), and Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB). Additional features such as Integrated Cruise Control (ICC), Traffic Jam Assist (TJA), Smart Speed Assist (ISA), and Multi-Collision Brake (MCB) further elevate its intelligent driving capabilities.

In contrast, the Turbo model offers a decent level of driver assistance, such as Blind Spot Detection, Lane Departure Warning, Door Opening Warning, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert with Braking.

Both models come in Carbon Black, Phantom Grey, and Khaki White, with the 1.5 Turbo also offered in Blood Stone Red, while the Hybrid CSH adds Moonlight Silver as an exclusive colour option.

Each variant includes a standard warranty of seven years or up to 150,000km. However, the 1.5L Hybrid CSH extends its coverage with an additional eight-year warranty or up to 160,000 kilometres specifically for the battery power pack, power motor, and hybrid control unit. Both models also come with seven years of complimentary towing service.

Pricing starts from RM88,800 for the 1.5 turbo and RM99,800 for the 1.5 Hybrid CSH. The early bird package consists of two years all inclusive free service.

The Chery Tiggo Cross offers a compelling package, whether you prefer the responsive petrol-powered 1.5 Turbo or the high-efficiency 1.5 Hybrid CSH. With generous features, an advanced safety suite, and striking styling, it stands out as a serious contender in the compact SUV segment in Malaysia.

The Proton Saga celebrates four decades of continuous production in 2025. Since its launch in the 1980s, the Saga has remained a popular choice among Malaysians, especially first-time car buyers and young professionals in search of an affordable, reliable, and practical vehicle. Its enduring appeal, backed by over two million units sold globally, reinforces its status as Proton’s longest-running and best-selling nameplate.

As the company’s flagship sedan, the Saga has adapted through the years to meet evolving market expectations. Despite the design changes and technological upgrades introduced over time, it has consistently maintained its core values of affordability, practicality, and superior ride and handling. In recent years, significant improvements have been made in build quality. This is reflected in the model’s performance in the Global Consumer Product Audit (GCPA)—a stringent quality measurement framework adopted from the Geely Group.

From August 2024 to May 2025, the Saga’s GCPA score dropped from 2,580 to 1,050, putting it on equal footing with its closest rivals. A lower GCPA score indicates fewer quality issues during production, thus representing a tangible improvement in vehicle assembly and finish.

The Saga remains a trusted and aspirational first car for many young Malaysians. It continues to serve as a stepping stone into adulthood, mobility, and financial independence. Recent survey data indicates that nearly 64 per cent of Saga buyers are purchasing their first car. Many of them are either fresh graduates starting their careers or students heading off to college, often supported by their parents in selecting the Saga as a safe and sensible choice.

The Road Transport Department (JPJ) has initiated a safety recall involving vehicles manufactured by Kia and Mercedes-Benz due to potential structural, equipment, or system defects that may pose safety risks. The recall aims to ensure affected vehicles undergo inspection and necessary corrective action to prevent possible accidents.

According to a statement issued by JPJ Director-General Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli, the bulk of the vehicles affected consist of 5,123 units of the Kia Rio UB model produced between 2010 and 2017. These vehicles are suspected of facing an electrical short circuit issue within the Hydraulic Electronic Control Unit (HECU) circuit board, which could potentially lead to a fire.

In addition, 32 units of Mercedes-Benz models manufactured between 2023 and 2025 are also included in the recall. The affected models include the S 580 e, GLC 300 4MATIC, EQS 500, AMG SL 43, EQE 53, and EQS 53. These vehicles are being recalled due to improperly installed fuse boxes, which could compromise vehicle safety and reliability.

Puspakom has issued a stern warning to vehicle runners and window tint film companies over the circulation of misleading information regarding its role in vehicle inspections, especially concerning window tint compliance. This move follows the discovery of warranty cards issued by a well-known tint film manufacturer, which asserted that their products were “JPJ-compliant” but “not Puspakom-compliant” – a claim the agency has firmly refuted.

According to FMT, the Chief Executive Officer of Puspakom, Mahmood Razak Bahman, denounced these assertions as both unfounded and deceptive. He clarified that Puspakom does not set independent standards for tint compliance and merely applies the specifications established by the Road Transport Department (JPJ) during its inspection processes.

Mahmood stated unequivocally that there is no such thing as a “Puspakom standard” for window tinting, and any implication to the contrary is a misrepresentation of the agency’s role. He further condemned the misuse of Puspakom’s name by industry players seeking to justify failed inspections or claim the existence of dual standards.

In many cases where vehicles fail tint inspections, the cause lies in the overall visible light transmission (VLT) values not meeting JPJ’s prescribed thresholds. Mahmood explained that this is often due to the factory-fitted tinted glass present in some vehicles. While a tint film might technically comply with JPJ guidelines when applied to clear glass, it may still result in a failed inspection if used in combination with windows that are already tinted by the manufacturer.

Proton has concluded the first half of 2025 with a notable increase in its market share, despite challenging market conditions affecting the wider automotive sector. The national carmaker registered 11,069 units in June, a marginal improvement compared to the same period last year, bringing its total year-to-date (YTD) sales to 72,156 units. This positions Proton as the second-best performing automotive brand in terms of volume for the first half of the year.

The company’s market share for June stood at 20.7%, reflecting a 1.1% gain over the previous month and placing it 1.2 percentage points above its YTD average of 19.5%. While the Total Industry Volume (TIV) dipped significantly in June—falling by 21% to an estimated 53,500 units from 68,007 in May—Proton’s sales resilience allowed it to improve its relative standing in the industry.

A key contributor to Proton’s performance continues to be the X50 SUV, which has firmly held its position as the best-selling B-segment SUV since its launch in October 2020. With more than 140,000 units sold domestically and abroad, the X50 remains a cornerstone of Proton’s lineup. In June alone, 1,657 units were delivered, including 353 units for export, representing nearly half of Proton’s total overseas shipments for the month. Cumulatively, 11,361 units of the X50 were sold in the first six months of 2025—an 11.3% increase compared to the same period in 2024.

Anticipation is building for the launch of the all-new Proton X50, scheduled for July. The upcoming model features updated styling, a revamped interior, the new 1.5-litre i-GT engine, and the advanced ADAS 2.0 safety suite. Pre-launch bookings began on 5 July, accompanied by a promotional campaign and a series of activities leading up to the official reveal.

These new units will serve as the foundation of DHAS’s in-house fleet of car carriers, marking a strategic shift from its prior reliance on third-party transport providers and a small group of leased Japanese prime movers.

The company now supports logistics operations for over 20 automotive brands in Malaysia, positioning itself as a preferred logistics provider within the industry.

Chief Executive Officer Fawzi Ahmad stated that the decision to adopt the Euro V-compliant MAN TGS trucks followed a comprehensive assessment across several key metrics. He explained that the model was chosen based on its strong performance in areas such as safety, vehicle specification, operational efficiency, pricing, aftersales support, and environmental considerations.
