iCAUR Malaysia is strengthening its presence in the local EV scene with the launch of the iCAUR iCONIC Roadshow, a 10-day experiential showcase running from 17 to 27 July 2025 at The Waterfront, Desa ParkCity. This initiative aims to bring the brand’s trailblazing innovation and bold design philosophy closer to the public, offering a deeper look into the much-anticipated iCAUR 03 electric SUV.

As Malaysia continues to lead iCAUR’s global expansion, the country has become the first international market to debut the all-electric iCAUR 03. The momentum from earlier iXPERIENCE roadshows held at Eco Ardence and 1 Utama has carried over into this latest event, which places the brand’s off-road-ready SUV in a vibrant urban environment for prospective customers to experience firsthand.

The iCAUR 03 is available in two powertrain options, tailored to suit a range of driving preferences. The standard two-wheel-drive (2WD) version is powered by a 184PS motor delivering 220Nm of torque, and is equipped with a 65.7kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, offering an NEDC-rated range of 426km. For those seeking enhanced performance, the Intelligent Wheel Drive (iWD) variant features dual motors with a combined output of 279PS and 385Nm of torque. It comes with a 69.8kWh battery capable of delivering a 418km range under the NEDC standard.

Over the years, the Honda CR-V has cemented itself as the darling of Malaysian car buyers looking for a spacious SUV.

Ever since it was first introduced back in 1997, the CR-V has found a place in close to half a million homes, or perhaps more.

It is not difficult to see why it is so popular either. The CR-V offers a pleasant combination of comfort, practicality and advanced features.

Over the years, the CR-V has found itself in the crosshairs of aggressive competitors. First it was competition from other Japanese marques, particularly the Toyota RAV4, Nissan X-Trail, Subaru Forester and the Suzuki Grand Vitara.

Then came the Koreans with the Hyundai Tucson and the Kia Sportage. Later the Americans joined the fight too with the Ford Escape and Chevrolet Captiva.

Of course, the competition has been relentless with more salvo’s from within Japan with Mazda introducing the CX-7, Mitsubishi and the Outlander / ASX and even the Europeans with the Volkswagen Tiguan and the Peugeot 3008.

Fast forward a couple of years though, and it is safe to say that the competition has never been more heated.

Now, we have fights on almost all fronts. Proton shook things up with the X70 and Chinese marques like Chery and the Tiggo 7 and the Haval H6 has meant that the CR-V is now a big fish in an ever-decreasing pond.

It is a good time to be a buyer though because you are spoilt for choice. So, in a world of choices, does the Honda CR-V still make a solid case for itself to convince you to part with your hard-earned money?

We think so, and here are five reasons why:

1. Efficiency.

In the context of the flagship Honda CR-V RS e:HEV, efficiency is something that it excels at.

Honda Malaysia claims that the hybrid CR-V can travel 20km on just a litre of fuel. Now car makers have a tendency of overestimating the capabilities of their cars, so we put that claim to the test earlier this year and achieved a remarkable 19.8km per litre. That is pretty close and good enough for us.

So, in a time where everything seems to be getting more expensive and unpredictable, a car that is consistently efficient should be a relief.

2. BOSE audio system.

A good audio system should never be underestimated. We spend a lot of time in our cars and one of the best things to do is to listen to your favourite music in absolute clarity.

A lot of car makers offer decent connectivity these days with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, but very few offer a good sound system.

We have tried out the BOSE sound system and it is simply remarkable. And let’s not forget that BOSE was once only available in more expensive cars, so the fact that Honda Malaysia is offering it in its flagship CR-V is commendable.

3. Refinement.

Another point never to be underestimated. Not sure about you, but we find it incredibly annoying when wind and tyre noise is noticeable inside the cabin. That is a deal breaker, and a lot of car models have been ticked off the list by buyers simply because their cabins were noisy when on the move.

Not the Honda CR-V RS e:HEV though. It offers a silent, refined interior which it achieves by using two key pieces of technology: wheel resonators and active noise cancellation.

Wheel resonators are small chambers in wheels with enclosed plastic or rubber materials. These are usually attached to the surface of the wheel to absorb sound and vibrations.

And the Active Noise Cancellation technology is a clever piece of technology which was first introduced in the headphones worn by pilots some years ago. This technology emits sound frequencies through the speakers that cancel out ambient sounds, making the cabin quieter.

And there is no better indication of a premium car than a cabin that remains quiet in all situations.

4. Driving dynamics.

How do you tell apart the “OG’s” from the newcomers? From the way they drive of course.

So, there might be a lot of newcomers to the SUV market, but there is one thing that almost all of them will struggle to match and that is the driving dynamics of Honda cars.

This may not be important to all car buyers, but after you have driven a car with a well-tuned ride and handling, it will be difficult to drive anything else.

Have you ever felt dead spots in a car’s steering? The part where you turn the steering wheel, but nothing happens? Annoying, isn’t it? You don’t get that in a Honda.

Honda cars are designed to respond to all your steering input and it is something that you must feel to believe. So, visit your closest Honda showroom to feel it for yourself.

5. Honda Sensing.

Safety, safety, safety. Every car maker talks about it and every car has it. Honda included.

But what is Honda Sensing you might ask? It is basically a suite of advanced safety systems designed to keep you and other road users safe. And the Honda CR-V RS e:HEV comes filled to the brim with safety systems.

It comes with such systems like Forward Collision Warning, Collision Mitigation Braking System, Lane Departure Warning and even Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow.

It has many other systems, but the hybrid variant is the only CR-V to come with Adaptive Driving Beam. This ensures you don’t accidentally blind oncoming cars by automatically moving the light beam away to illuminate other dark spots on the road. Clever, isn’t it? Thought so too.

Never a better time to buy a Honda CR-V.

It’s true. Among the many competitors, the Honda CR-V has made a name for itself as a purveyor of space, comfort and practicality.

And Honda Malaysia has further sweetened the deal with its Mid-Year Bonanza rebates.  This is where you will get to enjoy total combined rewards of up to RM13,000* (RM10,000* in cash and RM3,000* service voucher and valid until 31st of July 2025).

So, if a big SUV at under RM200,000 is what you want, the Honda CRV e:HEV RS is the one you want.

Chery Malaysia has reinforced its commitment to national development through sports by announcing a RM50,000 contribution to the National Sports Trust Fund (KWASN). The announcement was made during the official launch of the all-new Chery Tiggo Cross on 9 July 2025, underscoring the company’s intent to support Malaysian excellence beyond the automotive sector.

More than a symbolic gesture, Chery’s latest initiative includes a broader commitment to channel a portion of the proceeds from every unit of the new Tiggo Cross sold this year directly to KWASN. This sustained contribution aims to strengthen the nation’s sporting foundation and provide continuous backing to athletes and sports associations throughout the country.

Lamborghini Kuala Lumpur has officially unveiled the highly anticipated Lamborghini Temerario, which replaces the iconic Huracán, marking its electrified Malaysian launch, joining the Revuelto.

Originally launched at Monterey Car Week in August 2024, the Temerario has now made its Southeast Asian debut in one of Lamborghini’s most important emerging markets. Presented in a striking Blu Marinus finish, the model displayed reflects the brand’s evolving design language and engineering ethos, merging raw mechanical excellence with hybrid innovation.

At the core of the Temerario is a completely new 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine, engineered in Sant’Agata Bolognese, which revs to an astonishing 10,000 rpm. Paired with three electric motors — two on the front axle and one integrated between the engine and gearbox — the hybrid system delivers a combined output of approximately 920PS. This allows the Temerario to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in just 2.7 seconds and achieve a top speed of over 343km/h.

Structurally, the car rides on a new lightweight aluminium spaceframe that is 20 per cent stiffer than its predecessor, providing enhanced agility and torsional rigidity. The aerodynamic package has also seen major advancements, with Lamborghini claiming a 118 per cent increase in downforce over the Huracán EVO, rising to 158 per cent with the optional Alleggerita lightweight package. This variant further reduces weight by over 25 kg through the use of carbon-fibre wheels and body components.

Inside, the Temerario features a futuristic cockpit that Lamborghini describes as “pilot-inspired.” The cabin offers improved headroom, redesigned comfort seating, and an intuitive new human-machine interface (HMI). Technological highlights include Lamborghini Telemetry 2.0, integrated dashcam functionality, a memory recorder, and an augmented reality (AR) navigation system.

The Lamborghini Temerario is now open for booking in Malaysia through Lamborghini Kuala Lumpur, with a starting price of RM 1,350,000 before duties, taxes and personalisation.

The arrival of the Temerario marks a significant milestone for Lamborghini in Malaysia, representing the brand’s commitment to hybrid performance under its broader “Direzione Cor Tauri” electrification strategy. It is also the first time a Lamborghini production car features a V8 as the centrepiece — and what a statement it makes.

For Malaysian supercar enthusiasts, the Temerario offers not only blistering performance and engineering brilliance but also a glimpse into the electrified future of Italian motoring passion.

UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) concluded June 2025 with robust sales, recording 7,773 units for the month and bringing its year-to-date total to 44,286 vehicles. This steady performance highlights Toyota’s enduring appeal among Malaysian consumers, with the company continuing to prioritise reliability, value, and innovation across its diverse model lineup.

Toyota’s presence in the Malaysian market remains deeply entrenched across multiple customer segments, from first-time car buyers to seasoned enthusiasts and commercial users. Embracing Toyota’s global “Mobility for All” philosophy, UMWT maintains a strong commitment to delivering vehicles that offer both practical utility and long-term dependability. Its range, which includes passenger cars, SUVs, hybrids and commercial vehicles, continues to reflect the brand’s aim of offering real-world solutions for everyday needs.

Toyota Takes the Lead at Super GT Malaysia Festival

Further reinforcing its presence, UMWT played a pivotal role in the return of the Super GT racing series to Malaysia after a 12-year absence. As the Title Sponsor of the Super GT Malaysia Festival, held at Sepang International Circuit, Toyota attracted more than 75,000 motorsports fans over the weekend. Beyond the action on the track, the event showcased Toyota’s motorsports credentials through a vibrant GAZOO Racing zone, where visitors experienced GR performance models, tried their hand at racing simulators, and enjoyed interactive attractions tailored for the whole family.

Two of Liberty Walk’s most iconic Japanese builds are set to make a bold statement at the upcoming Tokyo Auto Salon Kuala Lumpur 2025, taking place from 8 to 10 August at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC). Flown in exclusively from Japan, the world-renowned tuning house will showcase its radically customised Ferrari F40 and Super Silhouette ER34 — two standout builds that have redefined automotive artistry.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to browse exclusive merchandise from Liberty Walk and meet the brand’s charismatic founder and owner, Wataru Kato, during the event.

The Liberty Walk Ferrari F40, which drew global attention upon its debut in 2023, is perhaps one of the most talked-about modified Ferraris in existence. Known for its extreme customisation, the F40 retains its legendary 2.9-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine, which delivers 471hp and 578Nm of torque. While maintaining its original performance DNA, the car has been transformed with Liberty Walk’s aggressive signature styling, including a full wide-body kit featuring prominent bolt-on fender flares, an aero-enhancing front cowl and diffuser, side skirts, rear diffuser, a large rear wing, and a lowered suspension setup.

The car’s traditional Rosso Corsa red paintwork has been replaced with a striking white wrap adorned with red roundels on the doors, drawing aesthetic inspiration from the A6M Zero fighter planes used by Japan during World War II. The dramatic transformation reportedly led to the vehicle being removed from Ferrari’s official registry, a testament to the extent of the modifications and the tuning house’s unapologetic approach to automotive expression.

AEON Credit has introduced Malaysia’s first credit card designed exclusively for bikers, the AEON Biker Visa Card. Unlike conventional credit cards, this one offers tailored benefits that cater to the real needs of motorcycle riders, from savings on servicing and spare parts to insurance and lifestyle rewards.

For too long, bikers have had to rely on generic financial products that don’t match the unique cost of maintaining a motorcycle — where replacing just one tire can cost more than a full set for a car. With this card, AEON Credit is putting riders back in the spotlight, recognizing the role bikers play in keeping Malaysia moving.

There was a time when we walked into a café with our heads held high as bikers, enjoying special privileges and discounts simply because we ride.

The AEON Biker Visa Card isn’t just a payment tool. It’s a statement of identity, restoring the sense of pride and privilege that comes with life on two wheels.

Types of AEON Biker Visa Card
There are two variants of the AEON Biker Visa Card, each extensively researched and tailored to suit different motorcycling needs:

  1. AEON Biker Infinite Visa Card: Perfect for those who frequently travel abroad, whether crossing borders on a motorcycle, or flying overseas. This premium card offers travel-focused benefits and exclusive privileges.
  2. AEON Biker Visa Gold Card: Ideal for riders who commute daily, with everyday rewards tailored to the needs of local riders.

Before diving into the full list of features and benefits, let’s take a closer look at what the AEON Biker Visa Card has to offer.

Ride Rewards That Matter
The cost of motorcycling has surged over the past five years, from spare parts and servicing to safety gear and accessories. A snapped CVT belt on a scooter alone can cost around RM400. Add to that the rising prices of lubricants, tires, and quality riding gear like helmets, jackets, gloves, and footwear, and it’s clear that being a responsible rider isn’t cheap.

That’s why the AEON Biker Visa Card rewards you for spending on what matters most to bikers:

  • Up to 8% cashback on motorcycle spare parts, accessories, merchandise, and service. (8% for Biker Infinite, 5% for Biker Gold.)
  • 8% cashback overseas spend (for Biker Infinite only).
  • 2% cashback for petrol (capped at RM20 for Biker Infinite, RM15 for Biker Gold per month).
  • 2% cashback for insurance.
  • 0.5% cashback for selected retail transactions.

Travel Rewards

For riders who frequently travel abroad, the AEON Biker Visa Infinite offers exclusive perks to elevate your journeys. In addition to earning 8% cashback on overseas spending, cardholders enjoy premium travel privileges such as:

  • 8x complimentary access to Plaza Premium Lounge (includes 1 guest per visit).
  • Access to Visa Concierge Services and a curated selection of luxury hotel partners via the Visa platform.

Wherever the road or skies take you, the Biker Visa Infinite ensures your travel experience is seamless and rewarding.

Events & Communities
There’s nothing quite like the bond between bikers, built through shared passion, stories, and the open road. AEON Biker Visa Cardholders are invited to join exclusive events that celebrate this camaraderie:

  • Invitations to motorcycle rallies and group rides, with VIP access for Biker Infinite cardholders.
  • Complimentary or discounted entry to major bike shows and gatherings in Malaysia.
  • Special privileges at selected motorcycle dealerships and merchandise outlets.

Insurance Rewards

Accidents often happen when we least expect them and as bikers, we’ve either faced emergencies ourselves or witnessed fellow riders struggle without proper insurance coverage. Unfortunately, many still carry the “it-won’t-happen-to-me” mindset… until it does.

The AEON Biker Visa Card is designed to provide peace of mind , offering complimentary insurance coverage that helps protect you on every ride, whether on Malaysian roads or beyond.

This protection is especially critical for riders crossing borders. For example, if you ride into Thailand and are involved in an accident, you could be held financially liable on the spot, or even barred from leaving the country until the settlement is made. Having proper travel and medical protection isn’t just smart, it’s essential.

What’s more, many forget that travel insurance also covers local travel within Malaysia, not just international trips.

With the AEON Biker Visa Card, you’re automatically covered with:

  • Up to RM500,000 complimentary coverage (Biker Infinite).
  • Up to RM4,000 coverage (Biker Gold).

Coverage includes:

  • 24-hour personal accident insurance.
  • Travel accident protection (Biker Infinite only).
  • Travel delay coverage (Biker Infinite only).
  • Ambulance fees.

Wherever you ride, ride with confidence, backed by protection that travels with you.

Other Rewards & Financial Flexibility
Beyond cashback and lifestyle benefits, the AEON Biker Visa Card also gives you powerful financial tools that go far beyond typical “buy now, pay later” services .

While 0% instalment plans are commonly available on certain online shopping platforms, the AEON Biker Visa Card stands out by providing three additional features:

Balance Transfer
Transfer outstanding balances from other credit cards to consolidate your payments into one manageable monthly plan. This is something you can’t do with standard online shopping credit.

Ready Cash
Access cash when you need it most, whether you’re travelling to places that only accept physical currency or when QR payment options are unavailable. In contrast, online shopping credit is limited to platform-specific use and does not allow cash withdrawals.

Flexi Payment Plan
Enjoy the freedom to pay your bill at your own pace, whether it’s the minimum amount or more. Unlike fixed-repayment buy now, pay later services, you are not restricted to rigid terms.
With the AEON Biker Visa Card, you don’t just earn rewards, you gain real financial flexibility built for riders who value control, convenience, and peace of mind.

AEON Biker Visa Credit Card Launch Campaign
To celebrate the launch of the AEON Biker Visa Card, new cardholders will receive a complimentary set of Baseus W04 Wireless Earbuds, perfect for life on the move.

Here’s how to qualify:
1. Apply and get approved for the AEON Biker Visa Card.
2. Activate your card.
3. Spend a minimum of RM500 in cumulative retail transactions within the campaign period.

Conclusion
So, is the AEON Biker Visa Card worth having? Absolutely.

From cashback on essentials and lifestyle rewards to insurance protection and exclusive events, the benefits are designed to support the real needs of bikers both on and off the road.

It is more than just a credit card. It’s your companion on every journey.

Chery Auto Malaysia is stepping up its game with the launch of the Tiggo Cross, offering Malaysian consumers two compelling powertrain options – a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine and a 1.5-litre hybrid (CSH). Both variants present a modern blend of technology, comfort, and safety aimed at value-conscious buyers without compromising on premium features.

The Tiggo Cross 1.5 Turbo is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine producing 147PS and 210Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT). This variant boasts a respectable 0–100 km/h time of 10.3 seconds in Sport mode and fuel consumption rated at 6.3L/100km.

Meanwhile, the Tiggo Cross 1.5 Hybrid CSH integrates a petrol engine with electric motors, delivering a combined output of 204PS and 310Nm of torque. It is more efficient with a fuel consumption figure of 5.4L/100km and a quicker acceleration time of 8.9 seconds. The hybrid model uses a DHT150 transmission with electronic shift-by-wire functionality.

This advanced CSH system delivers a smooth, fuel-efficient, and responsive drive — perfect
for both urban journeys and long-distance travel up to 1,000km mileage range.

Both variants share the same dimensions: 4318mm long, 1830mm wide, and 1670mm tall, riding on a 2610mm wheelbase, roughly the same size as a Proton X50. The suspension system comprises a MacPherson strut setup at the front and a torsion beam at the rear, with ventilated disc brakes at the front and solid discs at the rear.

Inside, the Tiggo Cross comes equipped with faux leather seats, dual-zone automatic air conditioning with rear vents, and a multifunction leather steering wheel. Both models feature front and rear armrests, ambient lighting, a wireless charger, a keyless entry system, remote engine start, and soft-touch materials across the dashboard.

The driver’s seat is electrically adjustable with lumbar support, while the co-driver’s seat is manually adjustable. Rear seats split 60:40 and offer three headrests. A total of three USB ports (two front, one rear) come as standard.

The dashboard features a dual-screen setup comprising a 10.25-inch digital driver display and a 10.25-inch infotainment head unit, supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other highlights include Bluetooth connectivity, a 540° HD panoramic camera system, an intelligent voice assistant, and a 6-speaker audio system.

Design-wise, both models are outfitted with LED headlights, daytime running lights (DRLs), tail lamps, fog lights, roof rails, and a rear sport spoiler. The cars sit on stylish 18-inch alloy wheels with red brake callipers for a sporty touch. Automatic headlights and a “Follow Me Home” function further enhance the vehicle’s practicality and style.

Chery prioritises safety with both variants receiving Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Brake Assist System (BAS), Hill Start Assist Control (HAC), Traction Control System (TCS), Emergency Brake Assist (EBA), and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). The Turbo variant comes with 6 airbags, while the Hybrid version is upgraded to 7.

The Hybrid CSH model stands out with its extended Advanced Driving Assistance System (ADAS) suite, which enhances safety and driving convenience. This includes Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Departure Prevention (LDP), Lane Keep Assist (ELK), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), and Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB). Additional features such as Integrated Cruise Control (ICC), Traffic Jam Assist (TJA), Smart Speed Assist (ISA), and Multi-Collision Brake (MCB) further elevate its intelligent driving capabilities.

In contrast, the Turbo model offers a decent level of driver assistance, such as Blind Spot Detection, Lane Departure Warning, Door Opening Warning, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert with Braking.

Both models come in Carbon Black, Phantom Grey, and Khaki White, with the 1.5 Turbo also offered in Blood Stone Red, while the Hybrid CSH adds Moonlight Silver as an exclusive colour option.

Each variant includes a standard warranty of seven years or up to 150,000km. However, the 1.5L Hybrid CSH extends its coverage with an additional eight-year warranty or up to 160,000 kilometres specifically for the battery power pack, power motor, and hybrid control unit. Both models also come with seven years of complimentary towing service.

Pricing starts from RM88,800 for the 1.5 turbo and RM99,800 for the 1.5 Hybrid CSH. The early bird package consists of two years all inclusive free service.

The Chery Tiggo Cross offers a compelling package, whether you prefer the responsive petrol-powered 1.5 Turbo or the high-efficiency 1.5 Hybrid CSH. With generous features, an advanced safety suite, and striking styling, it stands out as a serious contender in the compact SUV segment in Malaysia.

The Proton Saga celebrates four decades of continuous production in 2025. Since its launch in the 1980s, the Saga has remained a popular choice among Malaysians, especially first-time car buyers and young professionals in search of an affordable, reliable, and practical vehicle. Its enduring appeal, backed by over two million units sold globally, reinforces its status as Proton’s longest-running and best-selling nameplate.

As the company’s flagship sedan, the Saga has adapted through the years to meet evolving market expectations. Despite the design changes and technological upgrades introduced over time, it has consistently maintained its core values of affordability, practicality, and superior ride and handling. In recent years, significant improvements have been made in build quality. This is reflected in the model’s performance in the Global Consumer Product Audit (GCPA)—a stringent quality measurement framework adopted from the Geely Group.

From August 2024 to May 2025, the Saga’s GCPA score dropped from 2,580 to 1,050, putting it on equal footing with its closest rivals. A lower GCPA score indicates fewer quality issues during production, thus representing a tangible improvement in vehicle assembly and finish.

The Saga remains a trusted and aspirational first car for many young Malaysians. It continues to serve as a stepping stone into adulthood, mobility, and financial independence. Recent survey data indicates that nearly 64 per cent of Saga buyers are purchasing their first car. Many of them are either fresh graduates starting their careers or students heading off to college, often supported by their parents in selecting the Saga as a safe and sensible choice.
