Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Apprenticeship Program Now Accepting Applications

Applications are now being accepted for the 2023 Advanced Modern Apprenticeship programme at Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Training Academy. The programme provides a platform for young Malaysians who want to work for one of the most prominent firms in the world as passenger car technicians.

Since 1984, the Training Academy of Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has produced over 900 apprentices who are currently employed in a variety of jobs and specialisations within the brand’s approved dealer network. Since 2017, the programme has had 500 candidates on average yearly.

The three-year apprenticeship programme includes a thorough curriculum that is in line with globally recognised syllabuses and training standards developed by Mercedes-Benz Global Training. Mercedes-Benz Competence components are also incorporated into the programme to guarantee trainees’ ongoing growth with the company.

The Department of Skills Development, which is part of the Ministry of Human Resources, has recognised International Qualifications up to Level 3 in the programme.

A new profile for electric vehicle specialists called Qualified High-Voltage Technician (QHV) has been introduced as an additional module to train and prepare talent for the demands of tomorrow’s mobility landscape as part of Mercedes-Benz’s global strategy and focus on electric vehicles.

Depending on the specialisation they choose, participants in the Advanced Modern Apprenticeship programme will receive certificates for SKM Level 3, C&G VRQ Level 3, Qualified Maintenance Technician (QMT), Qualified System Technician (QST), Qualified Bodywork Technician (QBT), and Qualified High-Voltage Technician (QHV). A diversified skill set, including presentation abilities, critical analysis, decision-making, and systematic thinking as an automobile technician with a focus on systems and high-voltage technologies, will also be provided to participants.

Upon programme completion, employment is assured, with a minimum wage for the first year and prospects for gradual advancement beyond that. The Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Training Academy in Bandar Kinrara, Puchong, will be used to conduct the full course.

Interested individuals with a minimum of 3 credits in SPM or equivalent qualifications, including a pass in English, can apply for the program until 31st July 2023. They can also visit mb4.me/AMA for further information.
