Mitsubishi Xforce Launched In Indonesia, Malaysia Soon?

Mitsubishi has unveiled the brand-new Xforce, a compact SUV with an internal combustion engine (ICE) engine that is set to be made in Indonesia.

In terms of appearance and internal design, the production vehicle resembles the Mitsubishi XFC Concept from 2022 although with somewhat fewer amenities.

The Mitsubishi Xforce’s external design was already well known to us thanks to the official preview event conducted on July 31; however, we now get to glimpse the inside in addition to the precise specs. The contoured bodywork, the design of the grille, and the LED lighting units (similar to Thor’s Hammer lights from Volvo) on both ends give the SUV a generally contemporary and powerful appearance.

The Xforce has dimensions of 4390mm in length, 1810mm in width, and 1660mm in height, with a 2650mm wheelbase which is built on the same platform as the Xpander.

A 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen and an 8-inch digital instrument cluster are combined into one panel on the dashboard. It is claimed that the upholstery’s “mélange” fabric is stain-resistant. The Dynamic Sound Yamaha Premium sound system, which has no fewer than eight speakers, is another standout.

Mitsubishi claims that the five-seater cabin is among the most spacious and useful in the market thanks to its many storage spaces, cooler box, 40/20/40 reclining rear seats and adjustable cargo. Additionally, the interior is equipped with a wireless charging pad, USB outlets, and smartphone holders at the front and back.

Similar to the Mitsubishi Xpander, the engine is a non-electrified 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol unit that generates 103hp and 141Nm of torque. A CVT gearbox is used to only transmit power to the front axle.

Despite being a 2WD compact SUV, it can navigate flooded roads and rugged terrain because of its four drive modes (Normal, Wet, Gravel, and Mud), Active Yaw Control (AYC) system, and “class-leading” 222mm ground clearance. The suspension has also been adjusted to provide comfort on the roads in the ASEAN area.

The SUV will be manufactured at the Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha facility in Indonesia, which will receive it first before other ASEAN, South Asian, Latin American, Middle Eastern, and African nations. Will it be launched here in Malaysia soon and challenge the Honda HR-V, Toyota Corolla Cross and the Proton X50? We hope so. However, there has been no word or confirmation about this yet, so we will just have to wait and see.
