The Kia EV6 GT has been honoured as one of TIME’s Best Inventions of 2023 in the Transportation category. This annual list, which has been a prestigious recognition for over two decades, highlights 200 exceptional innovations, including products and concepts, that TIME editors consider to be “changing our lives.”

The Kia EV6 GT has garnered acclaim for its unique blend of Kia’s “Opposites United” design philosophy, which prioritizes sustainable mobility, and its exceptional supercar-level power and performance. Steven Center, COO & EVP of Kia America, expressed his pride in this achievement and the vehicle’s status as the most powerful production car ever built by Kia. He also noted that Kia America was the only automotive company included in the TIME100 List of Most Influential Companies for 2023.

To assemble this annual list, TIME’s editors and correspondents worldwide collect nominations and applications, focusing on emerging fields like AI, green energy, and sustainability. The contenders are then assessed based on various critical factors, including originality, efficacy, ambition, and impact.

According to TIME’s editors, the result is a collection of 200 groundbreaking inventions, with 50 special mentions, encompassing various fields like technology, entertainment, and design, that are reshaping the way we live, work, play, and think about possibilities.

The Kia EV6 GT has previously won the esteemed 2023 World Performance Car Award. Boasting 576HP, a rapid 3.4-second 0-100km/h acceleration time, and a top speed of 259km/h, this all-electric vehicle has managed to surpass traditional petrol-powered sports cars in long-range capability, interior spaciousness, and sophisticated design.
