As the auto industry transitions towards electric vehicles (EVs), there is increasing use of common platforms which have been developed and engineered specifically to integrate electric motors, related systems and battery packs. These are flexible platforms which can be used for different  vehicle types by varying the platform dimensions.

However, most of such platforms are suited for passenger vehicles which have limited payload demands. They may not necessarily be suitable for pick-up trucks which have greater load-carrying requirements, hence the continued use of the chassis frame instead of a monocoque structure.

Magna International, the Canadian automotive systems and parts manufacturer, has come up with new technology which provides a simple way to electrify a pick-up truck without losing truck capabilities. Known as eBeam technology, it is the first significant change to solid beam rear axle in trucks in more than 100 years.

Carmakers including Ford and General Motors have said they’re creating battery packs that are more straightforward to fix, replace and reuse, yet Tesla and other EV creators are supposedly heading down a different path. Tesla’s utilization of structural batteries that are vital to an EV’s design makes it challenging to fix or reuse a damaged battery.

The first thing that comes to mind when we hear someone say ‘Muscle Car’ is Dominic Toretto’s 70′ Charger from the Fast and Furious franchise. We got to admit, that was one fast and furious car that in the movies, was extremely powerful and stuff of dreams for every motorhead.

The first month of the year was a short sales month due to the Chinese New Year festive season, partly the reason for the 35% drop in the Total Industry Volume (TIV) of new vehicles delivered. However, it was not an unexpected drop after the exceptional high of December which recorded the highest sales volume in 2022.

February is also a short month, some years made shorter by festive holidays, so it is also not a month when high numbers are expected. Nevertheless, February saw a jump of 27% from the January TIV to close at 62,649 units.
