With the VT9, Jetour positions itself firmly within the mid-sized SUV market by combining design sophistication with practical utility. The model’s name, which stands for “Venture” and “9”, reflects Jetour’s philosophy of meaningful and experience-driven travel, while also signifying increased space and elevated comfort levels. The VT9 is part of the carmaker’s growing Travel+ line-up, which focuses on intelligent engineering and user-centric innovation.

Complemented by LED lighting systems, dual twin exhaust pipes and finely sculpted lines, the SUV combines athleticism with elegance. Traditional Chinese design cues have also been incorporated, most notably in the lantern-inspired daytime running lights and a feather-pattern grille, marrying cultural heritage with modern automotive styling.

The interior of the VT9 has been designed with space, comfort, and functionality in mind. It offers a three-row seating arrangement, with both the second and third rows foldable to create a maximum cargo volume of up to 1,680 litres. Occupants are greeted by a leather-wrapped D-shaped steering wheel, aluminium trims and perforated leather upholstery, while ambient lighting contributes to a refined cabin atmosphere.

The SUV’s centrepiece is a 10.25-inch dual LCD infotainment display with high-resolution 1920×720 visuals. The touchscreen supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, and offers multi-touch capabilities along with voice command integration. Aimed at connected lifestyles, the VT9 also includes features such as a 62-inch panoramic sunroof, a powered tailgate, a 50W wireless fast charger and a CN95-certified cabin air filtration system for enhanced in-car air quality.

Performance is delivered through a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine paired with a six-speed dual-clutch transmission (6DCT). Tested across over two million kilometres, the powertrain promises a reliable and efficient drive, tailored to the needs of both urban commuters and long-distance travellers.

The VT9 will be available in two trims: the Comfort and Prime variants. While the Comfort version includes essential features such as LED auto headlamps, 19-inch alloy wheels, red exterior accents, and perforated leather seats, the Prime variant builds upon this with additional equipment including a panoramic sunroof, a six-speaker audio system, memory function front seats and an auto-dimming rear-view mirror. The Prime trim also benefits from a more advanced safety package. Pricing starts at RM118,800 for the Comfort and RM123,800 for the Prime. The first 800 customers get a RM2,000 cash rebate. Five exterior colour choices will be available: Star Black, Khaki White, Phantom Grey, Tech Grey and Aurora Green.

Since entering the market in 2024, Jetour has established over 15 sales and service centres across the country. The company’s next phase of growth includes deeper collaboration with local partners, potential assembly localisation, and a continued focus on mobility solutions that are suited to the lifestyles of Malaysian consumers.

The introduction of the VT9 not only expands Jetour’s portfolio but also reinforces its long-term strategy of offering value-driven, stylish and intelligent vehicles that cater to a broad demographic in Malaysia’s competitive SUV segment.

With a rapid acceleration of 0 to 100km/h in just 3.8 seconds, the SUV combines the performance of a sports car with the practicality of a family vehicle. It also delivers an impressive WLTP-certified range of up to 600km on a single charge, supported by adaptive air suspension that automatically adjusts to varying road conditions for a consistently smooth and stable ride.

In Malaysia, the Zeekr 7X will be available in three variants: the RWD Standard priced at RM182,000, the RWD Long Range at RM195,000, and the AWD Performance variant at RM230,000. These prices are exclusive to the first 500 customers, forming part of Zeekr’s early ownership initiative to attract local buyers to the premium EV segment.

According to Zeekr Southeast Asia’s Managing Director, Alex Bao, the 7X had already garnered enthusiastic responses following previews in Singapore and Thailand. He noted that its arrival in Malaysia was a significant step forward for the brand, describing the SUV as a product that challenges conventional expectations in the electric luxury space, blending elegant design with cutting-edge technology and a strong focus on driver and passenger comfort.

Alongside the 7X, Zeekr also introduced a new variant of its flagship luxury MPV — the Zeekr 009 Executive. Positioned as a refined choice for both business professionals and families, the 009 Executive joins the existing 6-seater Ultra Luxury and 7-seater Luxury models in the company’s portfolio.

In addition to the new variant, Zeekr also revealed a fresh exterior colour option for the 009 Ultra Luxury and Luxury models. The new Mineral Green finish adds a layer of elegance to the vehicle’s existing colour choices — Phantom Black and Crystal White — giving prospective owners more opportunities for personal expression.

The Zeekr 009 remains a core offering in the brand’s premium electric lineup, distinguished by its serene driving characteristics, expansive cabin, and advanced intelligent features. Engineered for comfort and performance, the 009 has positioned itself as a benchmark within the high-end MPV category, offering a seamless fusion of luxury and technological innovation.

Audi has unveiled its latest plug-in hybrid variants of the A6 Sedan and Avant, boasting significant improvements in battery capacity, electric driving range, and overall refinement. Both body styles now integrate a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine paired with an electric motor, with total system outputs offered in two variants—295hp and 362hp. These upgrades position the A6 e-hybrid models as more efficient alternatives to diesel-powered counterparts, while still delivering strong performance.

A key highlight of the revamped plug-in hybrids is the newly upgraded battery. With a net capacity of 20.7 kWh—around 45 percent more than its predecessor—the battery enables the vehicles to travel over 100km purely on electric power under the WLTP combined cycle. Specifically, the A6 Sedan is capable of reaching up to 111km of electric range in urban conditions, while the Avant achieves up to 106km. Even at higher speeds, the A6 can maintain fully electric propulsion up to an electronically limited 140km/h.

The two powertrain options deliver impressive torque and acceleration. The base version generates 450Nm and accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in six seconds, while the higher-powered model outputs 500Nm and completes the sprint in just 5.3 seconds. For those seeking greater performance, Audi still offers more powerful V6 mild-hybrid and high-performance S and RS variants.

Proton’s sales performance in April 2025 marked a significant milestone for the national carmaker, securing a 14.7% year-on-year increase and reinforcing its hold on second place in Malaysia’s automotive sales rankings. Despite the traditionally slower sales period during festive seasons, Proton delivered 12,692 units across its domestic, export, smart and e.MAS portfolios. The company’s estimated market share now stands at 20.8%, outperforming the modest 1.8% growth of the Total Industry Volume (TIV), which reached 60,886 units for the month.

This uptrend not only highlights Proton’s resilience in a highly competitive market saturated with new players and aggressive pricing strategies, but also underscores the company’s ability to maintain customer confidence and brand relevance.

A standout achievement for the brand came from the all-electric Proton e.MAS 7, which has continued its upward trajectory since its launch in mid-December 2024. In April alone, the model recorded 863 units in combined domestic and export sales, raising its year-to-date tally to 2,716 units. This figure positions it as the best-selling electric vehicle in Malaysia and elevates the e.MAS sub-brand to second place in national EV sales, despite offering only a single model. As a result, EVs now represent 6% of Proton’s overall sales, reflecting growing public acceptance of the brand’s electrification direction.

Among internal combustion engine (ICE) offerings, the Proton X50 saw its strongest sales month of the year, reclaiming the lead in the B-segment SUV category with 2,389 units sold. Year-to-date, its sales have reached 7,506 units, surpassing its 2024 performance by 420 units.
