Genesis Reveals The GV80 Coupe Concept

The GV80 Coupe Concept, which was inspired by the X Speedium Coupe Concept that debuted in New York last year, combines the utility of a lifestyle-focused SUV with the athleticism of a sports car.

Genesis steps up its SUV game to compete with rivals such as BMW and Mercedes, who are dominating the current Sports Utility Vehicle market.

The quad lights, which have developed from multi-lens array technology to seamless light performance, are encompassed by the Double G-Matrix Patterned Crest Grille on the front fascia of the GV80 Coupe Concept. Four slots in the bumper that lessen shaded thermal flow improve cooling.

The long hood and ample dash-to-axle proportions of the GV80 Coupe Concept are a result of Genesis’ rear-wheel-drive architecture. The anti-wedge parabolic line highlights these classic proportions even more. It is enhanced by the powerful fenders and blisters that contrast with the car’s sleek coupe shape.

The ‘Designed by Genesis’ plaque on the front fender draws attention to the exclusive nature of Genesis models, and the carbon fiber roof, which helps the GV80 Coupe Concept’s dynamic driving characteristics by lowering the center of gravity and reducing weight and highlights the sporty nature of the car.

To enhance the vehicle aerodynamically, it is supported by an upper rear spoiler and the spoiler lip on the elliptical concave ducktail, which increases downforce at speed, to further strengthen its driving characteristics. The Two Lines trademark at the rear is finished by the seamless rear lighting.

The Magma exterior colour of the model, which was inspired by the brand’s Distinctly Korean ethos, also brings more attention to its design.

The inside of the GV80 Coupe Concept blends black Nappa and suede leather with plaid double stitching, orange piping, and carbon fiber weaving on the functional surfaces, highlighting the sportiness of the space through the use of a three-spoke steering wheel.

Four bucket seats provide body support during turns, enhancing passenger safety and comfort, while the body-colored carbon fibre backrest emphasizes the extroverted nature of the GV80 Coupe Concept. An additional G-Matrix strut brace is installed beneath the bucket seats to increase the body’s structural rigidity.

Due to it being a “concept”, Genesis has yet to reveal the  full specs, pricing, dimensions, or production timing.
