Mini has unveiled a dynamic expansion to its model line-up, bringing forth a trio of John Cooper Works (JCW) models and the newly redefined Mini Cooper Convertible. These new additions underscore the brand’s deep-rooted motorsport heritage and commitment to delivering thrilling driving experiences, now extended into the electrified era.
The JCW moniker traces its legacy to the brand’s iconic victories in the Monte Carlo Rally, where the classic Mini’s lightweight build and agility stunned the motorsport world. These new models proudly carry that spirit forward, with a focus on spirited driving, whether via traditional combustion or fully electric powertrains.
The new petrol-powered Mini JCW continues to deliver hallmark go-kart-like dynamics, courtesy of its 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine producing 231hp and 380Nm of torque. Paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive, the vehicle accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in just 6.1 seconds and reaches a top speed of 250km/h. Fuel consumption ranges from 6.5 to 6.8 litres per 100km, while carbon emissions lie between 147–154 g/km. An adaptive suspension system, exclusive to this model, enhances handling and ride comfort.
In contrast, the newly introduced all-electric JCW models reflect Mini’s embrace of electrification without compromising on performance. Both the Mini JCW Electric and the JCW Aceman deliver 258hp and 350Nm of torque through front-wheel-drive setups. The JCW Electric sprints from 0–100km/h in 5.9 seconds, while the Aceman version achieves the same in 6.4 seconds. Both reach a top speed of 200km/h.
