In a strong showcase at MY BMW World 2025 exhibition highlighting the Most Powerful Letter in the World, BMW Malaysia today unveiled the New BMW M5, marking a new chapter for the iconic performance sedan with the debut of electrified M power, alongside the New BMW M3 Competition M xDrive, bringing bold design and everyday versatility to a high-performance four-door saloon.
Completing the lineup of the latest evolutions from BMW M is the New BMW M2, delivering pure driving exhilaration in a compact, track-inspired form. Additionally, making its first-ever public debut since its initial unveiling in 2024 is the New BMW M4 Competition Coupé M xDrive, celebrated for its high-performance engineering and deep motorsport heritage, setting the benchmark for dynamic driving.
The new BMW M4 Competition Coupé M xDrive stands as a pinnacle of dynamic design and engineering. Refreshed for the Malaysian market, the model reflects a blend of aggressive aesthetics and technical precision, underscoring BMW’s dedication to motorsport-inspired performance. Its assertive front end is framed by adaptive LED headlights equipped with a high-beam assistant for optimal visibility. Shadowline M Lights and an extended M High-Gloss Shadowline treatment amplify the visual impact, adding a dark, sporty finish to the vehicle’s details.
The coupé’s silhouette is further defined by its staggered 19-inch front and 20-inch rear M forged wheels in Double-spoke style 826 M Black, paired with red high-gloss M Compound brakes. A carbon fibre roof reduces overall weight and lowers the car’s centre of gravity, significantly improving driving stability and agility. Enhancing the coupé’s identity is a distinctive M graphic available in Red or Black high gloss, while laser taillights—originally featured on the M4 CSL—can be optionally specified to add a dramatic flair to the rear lighting signature.
Inside, the cabin of the M4 Competition Coupé M xDrive seamlessly blends sporting intent with luxury. A redesigned three-spoke M leather steering wheel now includes a flattened bottom and a clearly marked 12 o’clock indicator, reinforcing the model’s track-focused character. The BMW Curved Display—a harmonious integration of a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and a 14.9-inch central control display—dominates the dashboard. Powered by BMW’s latest Operating System 8.5, the display is customised with M-specific graphics and features to provide an engaging and intuitive driver experience.
High-quality materials and finishes are evident throughout the interior, including M Carbon Fibre trim, an anthracite headliner, and galvanic accents on the control switches, all of which combine to create a sophisticated, performance-centric atmosphere.
Under its sculpted bonnet, the M4 Competition Coupé M xDrive houses the BMW M TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder in-line petrol engine. With its high-revving nature and trademark M acoustics, the 3.0-litre engine now produces 530hp, an increase of 20hp over the previous version, thanks to enhancements exclusive to the M xDrive all-wheel-drive system. The result is blistering performance, allowing the coupé to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 3.5 seconds and reach 200 km/h in just 11.8 seconds.
The engine is mated to an eight-speed M Steptronic Sport transmission, delivering seamless and responsive gear shifts. Complementing the powertrain are the adaptive M suspension and the M Sport differential, which together ensure exceptional handling precision and control across various driving conditions, whether on winding roads or a closed track.
The new M4 Competition M xDrive has a recommended retail price of RM878,800. Additionally, the BMW Service & Repair Inclusive (BSRI) programme ensures peace of mind with a 5-year unlimited mileage warranty, along with 5 years / 100,000km of service coverage. For Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs), service coverage extends to 6 years with unlimited mileage, while an 8-year high-voltage battery warranty. With BMW Roadside Assistance, customers can receive 24/7 emergency support – including towing, courtesy cars, and hotel accommodation in the event of an unprecedented emergency.
